The twenty-seventh chapter, with its entrances and exits, its endless throngs of attendants, resounded like the waves of the ocean crashing against the shore. (14) The great palace, with its guards busy warding off the crowds, echoed with auspicious sounds, as if Saraswati herself had made it her abode. (146) Though familiar, it seemed new in its splendor. The king, seeing the assembly of kings, was filled with wonder. (147) Who can describe the magnificence of this vast encampment, where treasures are piled high and countless jewels lie scattered in the midst? (148)
**Shārdūlavikrīḍita**
Seeing his camp, adorned with Lakshmi's abode, and filled with splendor that mocked the heavens, the glorious king, filled with joy, entered his tent, where the guards, with their banners fluttering, kept the crowds at bay. (149)
In that auspicious tent, where the air was filled with the fragrance of sandalwood and the breeze carried the cool spray of the Ganges, the king, the lord of wealth, took his place, having conquered the east. (150)
