## Forty-ninth Chapter
**289** The man who is devoted to the feet of the Jinas and who practices this ritual, destroys all the bonds of karma and becomes the destroyer of birth, old age, and death. ||210||
A noble soul, having obtained a suitable birth, becomes a householder. Then, following the instructions of his guru, he attains the supreme Parivrajya and goes to heaven. There, he obtains the wealth of Indra. After falling from there, he attains the position of a Chakravarti. Then, attaining the Arhathood, he becomes the possessor of great glory and finally attains Nirvana. ||211||
Thus ends the forty-ninth chapter of the Trishatilak Mahapurana, composed by Bhagavan Jinaseanacharya, which describes the initiation and lineage rituals. ||36||
