## Forty-First Chapter
**285**
These four should be conceived even in the *viṣva* (universe). Due to the fascination with the *rasa* (flavor) of the Puranas, sometimes the *tritaī* (three) is considered. ||16||
The muni, desiring to attain the *divya* (divine) and other *mūrti* (forms), should emaciate his own body and protect the bodies of other beings. ||170||
Considering himself incapable of describing the characteristics of the Jinas, he should perform austerities, having acquired the characteristics. ||171||
Desiring the *divya* (divine) and other beauty, which is an inevitable sequence, the muni should perform severe austerities, polluting the beauty of his own body. ||172||
The muni, who is free from mental attachment, who has abandoned the brilliance arising from his own body, and who meditates on the brilliance of the Lord, will quickly become brilliant. ||173||
Abandoning the brilliance of gems, oil, and lamps, the muni should worship the Jina, who is full of brilliance. He will become a yogi, full of brilliance, with a brilliant halo. ||174||
Abandoning the weapons, clothes, and armor of the past, the muni, who is completely peaceful, should worship the Jina. He will become the king of yogis, the lord of the Dharmachakra. ||175||
Abandoning the rituals of bathing, etc., and taking refuge in the *snātaka* (liberated) Jina, the muni will attain the supreme anointment of birth on the peak of Mount Meru. ||176||
Abandoning his worldly ownership and serving the supreme Lord, the Jina, this being will become worthy of being served by the beings of the world. ||177||
Abandoning the different types of seats suitable for him, the muni, who has abandoned clothes, will sit on a *siṁhāsana* (throne) and become a propagator of the *tīrtha* (pilgrimage). ||178||
"He who is without attachment to his own coverings, who is on the earth without coverings, lying down on a *sthaṇḍila* (bed) with his head resting on his arm..." ||179||
