**Chapter 272**
"Guided by the proper method"
A person who listens to the **Mahapuraana** is superior to the best of teachers. He abandons his wrong path and gains wisdom in the right path. ||33||
The **Guru** is the father and **Tattvajnan** is the well-cultivated womb. The **Bhavya** soul descends into this womb of **Tattvajnan** through the birth of **Dharma**. ||34||
This process of descent is similar to the process of conception, as there is no birth in either case. ||35||
This is the process of descent. Then, the **Bhavya** obtains the **Vratta** (vows) by prostrating at the feet of the **Guru** and following the proper method. ||36||
This is the obtaining of **Vratta**. Then, after observing a fast, the **Bhavya** performs the **Pooja** according to the proper method and obtains the **Sthanalabha** (place of worship). This is the proper method for it. ||37||
In a clean **Jinalaya** (Jain temple), draw an eight-petaled lotus or a circular **Samavasarana** mandala. ||38||
Draw it with fine powder mixed with water or with sandalwood paste, etc. ||39||
When the **Jina** is facing the **Suri** (teacher) and the **Bhavya** is seated in front of the eight-petaled lotus or the **Jina** mandala, which has been drawn according to the proper method and worshipped by knowledgeable people, the **Suri** should place his hand on the **Bhavya's** head and say, "This is your initiation as a **Shravaka** (disciple)." ||40-41||
He should touch the **Bhavya's** head with the **Panchamusti** method and say, "You are purified by this initiation." Then, he should give the **Bhavya** the remaining **Shesh-Akshat** (rice grains) from the **Pooja**. ||42||
Then, he should teach the **Bhavya** the five **Namaskara** mantras, saying, "This mantra will purify you from all sins." ||43||
After performing this ritual, the **Suri** should dismiss the **Bhavya** for **Parana** (breaking the fast). The **Bhavya**, pleased by the **Guru's** grace, should return to his home. ||44||
This is the obtaining of **Sthanalabha**.
The **Sunakara** (person who has strayed from the right path) abandons his love for the wrong path and directs his mind towards the right path. ||33||
At that time, the **Guru** is his father and **Tattvajnan** is the well-cultivated womb. The **Bhavya** soul descends into this womb of **Tattvajnan** through the birth of **Dharma**. ||34||
This process of descent is similar to the process of conception, as there is no birth in either case. ||35||
This is the first process of descent.
Then, the **Bhavya** obtains the **Vratta** (vows) by prostrating at the feet of the **Guru** and following the proper method. This is the second process called **Vrattalabha**. ||36||
This is the second process called **Vrattalabha**.
Then, after observing a fast, the **Bhavya** performs the **Pooja** according to the proper method
