## Thirty-fourth
Speaking thus, briefly establishing them on the eternal path, the Bhagavan, addressing them loudly, instructed them. || 113 ||
Those with great pride, endowed with youth, strength, and virtues, how can you, like noble elephants, be the carriers of another? || 114 ||
My sons, what is there in this kingdom, in this fleeting life? What is there in this youthful frenzy, tainted by wealth and power? || 115 ||
What is the use of armies that can be conquered by the strong? What is the use of gold, silver, elephants, and horses that can be stolen? What is the use of this wealth, like fuel, that kindles the fire of desire? || 116 ||
Even after enjoying for a long time, those things do not bring satisfaction, but only extreme fatigue. It is futile to enjoy these objects, like poisoned food, which are enemies to the soul. || 117 ||
My sons, is there any object whose taste you have not experienced? The same taste, which you have experienced many times, how can it bring you satisfaction? || 118 ||
Where weapons become friends, sons and brothers become enemies, and the earth itself becomes a woman for all to enjoy, such a kingdom is to be despised. || 119 ||
Let the king of kings, Bharata, rule this land of Bharata, as long as his merit lasts. Your anger in this matter is futile. || 120 ||
Even by Bharata, this kingdom will be abandoned when the time comes. Why do you fight for this unstable kingdom, for a cause that is not eternal? || 121 ||
Therefore, stop competing with each other, and embrace the great tree of Dharma, whose flower of compassion never fades and bears the fruit of liberation. || 122 ||
That austerity which is free from the humiliation of being worshipped by others, but which is itself worshipped by others, is the protector of the pride of you, who are full of pride. || 123 ||
Initiation is protection, virtues are servants, compassion is the beloved of life. This is the supreme kingdom, worthy of praise and adorned with all virtues. || 124 ||
