"We must go abroad and conquer the Mlechcha lands," thinking thus, the vassals, almost all, prepared their wealth and forces. ||66||
The archers, with quivers full of arrows, large and small, bowed to their lords, as if saying, "We are your debtors, and are ready to serve you in return for your sustenance." ||67||
With a roar, many archers drew their bows, string in hand, as if they wanted to pull out the very life of their enemies. ||68||
Some warriors, with swords in hand, weighed them, as if they wanted to measure the weight of the honor they had received from their lord. ||69||
Many warriors, clad in armor, with gleaming swords, were so well-adorned, as if they were great serpents with loose skin and flickering tongues. ||70||
Many warriors, with swords in hand, roared and circled around, as if they were seeing their enemies face to face. ||71||
The chariots, filled with fiery arrows and other weapons, with great pillars and other equipment, swords, bows, and helmets to protect the head, were like well-equipped armories. ||72||
The charioteers, though they were carrying heavy weapons on their chariots, were still very imposing. ||73||
