The thirty-first chapter:
The Sindhu, pleased by the arrival of the Lord, served the army commanders with its gentle waves and wind. (11)
Seeing the Sindhu, adorned with the descriptions of the Ganga and filled with foam, approaching, the Lord of wealth (Bharata) considered it as if he had conquered the north. (12)
Following the banks of the Sindhu, with his armies, he subdued the kings of the north, and slowly reached the foot of the victorious mountain. (13)
The mountain, adorned with nine peaks made of jewels, appeared from afar to Bharata as if it were offering an arghya (offering). (14)
With its branches, like arms, swaying in the wind, the mountain seemed to be calling out to the victorious Bharata who had arrived from afar. (15)
The mountain, adorned with waterfalls cascading from its peaks, seemed to be offering water for washing the feet of the Lord, as if it were a devotee eager to serve. (16)
The mountain, filled with naga, nagakesar, and supari trees, and with its beautiful forest on the banks, seemed to be inviting the Lord to rest. (17)
With its forest canopy of flowers scattered by the wind, and the sound of cuckoos as its drums, the mountain seemed to be standing in reverence to Bharata. (18)
What is the use of saying more? The mountain, with its abundant and overflowing expressions of respect, seemed to be welcoming Bharata, who was eager to conquer the world. (19)
The army, controlled by the commanders, crossed the high platform of the forest, adorned with toranas (arches), and entered the forest. (20)
The army, spread out in all directions, filled the area near the forest, and the birds, unable to fly, were breathless. (21)
