Stylistic Peculiarities
We have considerable style varieties and stylistic variation in VHM. : simple, factual descriptions, elaborate, highly ornate descriptions that are teeming with unwieldy compounds, crisp and witty dialogues, spri. ghtly, humorous conversations passages of emotional intensity, racy narratives. We find the stylistic traits of VH. further emphasized in VHM. In stylized and stereotype descriptions, the stylistic model of the Sankrit prose Kavyas of Subandhu, Bāņa and Dandin seems to have been consciously imitated, and they remind us of the stock descriptions of the Varnakas of the Jain canonical texts, which we find imitated in VH also.
