Alsdorf has demonstrated (AJM, P 167) that the Vedha is frequently used in the descriptive passages of VH. In the long compounds of many of the descriptive passages of VHM. frequently we find (e. g. in the descriptive passages on pp, 6,8 etc.) parts which show sequences of Caturmätra Gaņas wherein the form u-u (or u, uuu) alternates, but this structure secms to have been frequently violated, and we get more tha impression of irregular rythmic prose rather than that of a sustained use of Vedha.
