जय पराजय का ज्ञान, प्रश्न करने के समय से लाभ-हानि
योगशास्त्र पंचम प्रकाश श्लोक २२४ से २३० अर्थ :- यदि पूरी छाया दिखायी दे तो एक वर्ष तक मृत्यु नहीं होगी, पैर जंघा और घुटना न दिखायी देने पर
क्रमशः तीन, दो और एक वर्ष में मृत्यु होती है। ऊरू-(पिंडली) न दिखायी दे तो दस महीने में, कमर न दिखायी दे तो आठ-नौ महीने में और पेट न दिखायी दे तो पांच-छह महीने में मृत्यु होती है। यदि गर्दन न दिखायी दे तो चार, तीन, दो या एक महीने में मृत्यु होती है। यदि बगल न दिखायी दे तो पंद्रह दिन में और भुजा न दिखायी दे तो दस दिन में मृत्यु होती है। यदि कंधा न दिखायी दे तो आठ दिन में, हृदय न दिखायी दे तो चार प्रहर में मस्तक न दिखायी दे तो दो प्रहर में और शरीर सर्वथा दिखायी
न दे तो तत्काल ही मृत्यु होती है ।।२२०-२२३।। अब कालज्ञान के उपायों का उपसंहार करते हैं१६८६। एवमाध्यात्मिकं कालं, विनिश्चेतुं प्रसङ्गतः । बाह्यस्यापि हि कालस्य निर्णयः परिभाषितः ॥२२४|| अर्थ :- इस प्रकार प्राणायाम के अभ्यास रूप उपाय से आध्यात्मिक काल ज्ञान का निर्णय बताते हुए प्रसंगवश
बाह्य निमित्तों से भी काल का निर्णय बताया गया है ।।२२४।। अब जय-पराजय के ज्ञान का उपाय कहते हैं६८७। को जेष्यति द्वयोयुद्धे? इति पृच्छत्यवस्थितः । जयः पूर्वस्य पूर्णे स्याद् रिक्तस्यादितरस्य तु ॥२२५।।
अर्थ :- इन दोनों के युद्ध में किसकी विजय होगी? इस प्रकार का प्रश्न करने पर यदि स्वाभाविक रूप से पुरक | . हो रहा हो अर्थात् श्वास भीतर की ओर खिंच रहा हो, तो जिसका नाम पहले लिया गया है उसकी विजय
होती है और यदि नाड़ी रिक्त हो रही हो अर्थात् वायु बाहर निकल रहा हो तो दूसरे की विजय होती
है।।२२५।। रिक्त और पूर्ण नाड़ी का लक्षण कहते हैं१६८८। यत् त्यजेत् सञ्चरन् वायुस्तद्रिक्तमभिधीयते । सङ्क्रमेद्यत्र तु स्थाने तत्पूर्णं कथितं बुधैः ॥२२६।।. अर्थ :- चलते हुए वायु का बाहर निकालना 'रिक्त' कहलाता है और नासिका के स्थान में पवन अंदर प्रवेश
करता हो तो, उसे पंडितों ने 'पूर्ण' कहा है ।।२२६ ।। अब दूसरे प्रकार से कालज्ञान कहते हैं।६८९। प्रष्टाऽऽदौ नाम चेज्ज्ञातुः गृह्णात्यन्वातुरस्य । स्यादिष्टस्य तदा सिद्धिः, विपर्यासे विपर्ययः ॥२२७।।। अर्थ :- प्रश्न करते समय पहले जानने वाले का और बाद में रोगी का नाम लिया जाय तो इष्टसिद्धि होती है, इसके
विपरीत यदि पहले रोगी का और फिर जानने वाले का नाम लिया जाय तो परिणाम विपरीत होता है। जैसे कि 'वैद्यराज! यह रोगी स्वस्थ हो जायेगा?' तो रोगी स्वस्थ हो जायेगा। और 'रोगी अच्छा हो जाएगा या नहीं, वैद्यराज?' इस प्रकार विपरीत नाम बोला जाये तो विपरीत फल जानना अर्थात रोगी
स्वस्थ नहीं होगा ॥२२७।। तथा।६९०। वामबाहुस्थिते दूते, समनामाक्षरो जयेत् । दक्षिणबाहुगेत्याजौ, विषमाक्षरनामकः ॥२२८।। अर्थ :- युद्ध में किसकी विजय होगी? इस प्रकार प्रश्न करते वाला दूत यदि बांई और खड़ा हो और युद्ध करने
वाले का नाम दो, चार, छह आदि सम अक्षर का हो तो उसकी विजय होगी और प्रश्नकर्ता दाहिनी ओर
खड़ा हो तथा योद्धा का नाम विषम अक्षरों वाला हो तो युद्ध में उसकी विजय होती है ॥२२८।। तथा|१६९१। भूतादिभिर्गृहीतानां, दष्टानां वा भुजङ्गमैः । विधिः पूर्वोक्त एवासौ, विज्ञेयः खलु मान्त्रिकैः ॥२२९॥ अर्थ :- भूत आदि से आविष्ट हो अथवा सर्प आदि से डस लिये गये हों, यदि उनके लिए भी मंत्रवेत्ताओं से
प्रश्न करते समय पूर्वोक्त विधि ही समझनी चाहिए ।।२२९।। ||६९२। पूर्णा सञ्जायते वामा, विशता वरुणेन चेत् । कार्याण्यारभ्यमाणानि, तदा सिध्यन्त्यसंशयम् ।।२३०।।
