योगशास्त्र पंचम प्रकाश श्लोक २११ से २२३
||६७३ | सूर्योदयक्षणे सूर्यं पृष्ठे कृत्वा ततः सुधीः । स्व-परायुर्विनिश्चेतुं निजच्छायां विलोकयेत् ॥ २११॥
| ६७४ | पूर्णां छायां यदीक्षेत, तदा वर्ष न पञ्चता । ||६७५ । हस्ताङ्गुलिस्कन्धकेशपार्श्वनासाक्षये क्रमात् । | | ६७६ । षण्मास्यां म्रियते नाशे, शिरसश्चिबुकस्य वा ।
अर्थ :
कर्णाभावे तु पञ्चत्वं वर्षेर्द्वादशभिर्भवेत् ॥ २१२ ॥ दशाष्ट- सप्त-पञ्च- त्र्येकवर्षैर्मरणं दिशेत् ॥२१३॥ ग्रीवानाशे तु मासेनैकादशाहेन दृक्क्षये ॥ २१४ || ||६७७। सच्छिद्रे हृदये मृत्युः, दिवसैः सप्तभिर्भवेत् । यदि च्छायाद्वयं पश्येद्, यमपार्श्वं तदा व्रजेत् ॥२१५॥ जिसको अपने आयुष्य का निर्णय करना हो, उसे अपना नाम ॐ कार सहित षट्कोण-यंत्र के मध्य में लिखना चाहिए। यंत्र के चारों कोणों में मानो अग्नि की सैकड़ों ज्वालाओं से युक्त 'रकार' की स्थापना करनी चाहिए। उसके बाद अनुस्वार सहित अकार आदि 'अं, आं, इं, ई, उं, ऊं छह स्वरों से कोणों के बाह्य भागों को घेर लेना चाहिए। फिर छहों कोणों के बाहरी भाग में छह स्वस्तिक लिखना चाहिए। बाद में स्वस्तिक और स्वरों के बीच-बीच में छह 'स्वा' अक्षर लिखे। फिर चारों ओर विसर्ग सहित 'यकार' की स्थापना करना और उस यकार के चारों तरफ वायु के पूर से आवृत संलग्न चार रेखाएँ खींचना। इस प्रकार का यंत्र बनाकर पैर, हृदय, मस्तक और संधियों में स्थापित करना। उसके बाद सूर्योदय के समय सूर्य की ओर पीठ करके और पश्चिम में मुख करके बैठना और अपनी अथवा दूसरे की आयु का निर्णय करने के लिए अपनी छाया का अवलोकन करना चाहिए। यदि पूर्ण छाया दिखायी
तो एक वर्ष तक मृत्यु नहीं होगी, यदि कान दिखायी न दे तो बारह वर्ष में मृत्यु होगी, हाथ न दीखे तो दस वर्ष में, अंगुलियां न दीखे तो आठ वर्ष में, कंधा न दीखे तो सात वर्ष में, केश न दीखे तो पांच वर्ष में, पार्श्वभाग न दीखे तो तीन वर्ष में, नाक न दीखे तो एक वर्ष में, मस्तक या ठुड्डी न दीखे तो छह महीने में, गर्दन न दीखे तो एक महीने में, नेत्र न दीखे तो ग्यारह दिन में और हृदय में छिद्र दिखायी 'दे तो सात दिन में मृत्यु होगी। और यदि दो छायाएं दिखायी दे तो समझ लेना कि मृत्यु अब निकट ही है ।। २०८ - २१५ ।।
यंत्रप्रयोग का उपसंहार करके विद्या से कालज्ञान करने की विधि बताते हैं
| | ६७८ । इति यन्त्र - प्रयोगेण, जानीयात् कालनिर्णयम् । यदि वा विद्यया विद्याद्, वक्ष्यमाणप्रकारया ॥ २१६ ॥ :- इस प्रकार यंत्र प्रयोग से आयुष्य का निर्णय करना चाहिए या अथवा आगे कही जाने वाली विद्या से काल जानना चाहिए ।। २१६ ।।
अर्थ
सात श्लोकों द्वारा अब उस विद्या को कहते हैं
| ६७९ । प्रथमं न्यस्य चूडायां, 'स्वा' शब्दम् 'अ' च मस्तके । 'क्षिं' नेत्रे हृदये 'पं' च, नाभ्यब्जे हाऽक्षरं ततः ॥ २१७|| ||६८० । अनया विद्ययाष्टाग्रशतवारं विलोचने । स्वच्छायां चाभिमन्त्र्यार्कं पृष्ठे कृत्वाऽरुणोदये ॥ २१८ || ।६८१ । परच्छायां परकृते, स्वच्छायां स्वकृते पुनः । सम्यक्तत्कृतपूजः सन्नुपयक्तो विलोकयेत् ॥ २१९ ॥ :- 'ॐ जुँ सः ॐ मृत्युं जयाय ॐ वज्रपाणिने शूलपाणिने हर हर दह दह स्वरूपं दर्शय हूं फट् फट्' इस विद्या से १०८ बार अपने दोनों नेत्रों और छाया को मंत्रित करके सूर्योदय के समय सूर्य की और पीठ करके पश्चिम में मुख रखकर अच्छी तरह पूजा करके उपयोगपूर्वक, दूसरे के लिए दूसरे की छाया और अपने लिये अपनी छाया देखनी चाहिए ।। २१७ - २१९ ।।

||६८२ । सम्पूर्णां यदि पश्येत् तामावर्षं न मृतिस्तदा । क्रम- जंघा - जान्वभावे, त्रि-द्वयेकाब्दैर्मृतिः पुनः ॥ २२०॥ ||६८३ | ऊरोरभावे दशभिः, मासैर्नश्येत् कटेः पुनः । अष्टाभिर्नवभिर्वाऽपि, तुन्दाभावे तु पञ्चषैः || २२१|| | ६८४ | ग्रीवाऽभावे चतुस्त्रिकमासैम्रियते पुनः । कक्षाभावे तु पक्षेण, दशाहेन भुजक्षये ॥२२२॥ ||६८५ । दिनैः स्कन्धक्षयेऽष्टाभिः चतुर्याभ्यां तु हृत्क्षये । शीर्षाभावे तु यामाभ्यां सर्वाभावे तु तत्क्षणात् ॥२२३॥
