आचार्य भद्रबाहुस्वामी से स्थूलभद्रमुनि द्वारा बारहवें अंग का अध्ययन
योगशास्त्र तृतीय प्रकाश श्लोक १३१ तब स्थूलभद्र ने कहा-भगवन्! मुझे उद्वेग तो नहीं होता; परंतु वाचना बहुत ही अल्प मिलती है। आचार्यश्री ने कहा|अब मेरी ध्यान-साधना लगभग पूर्ण होने वाली है। उसके पूर्ण होते ही मैं तुम्हें यथेच्छ वाचना दे सकूँगा। ध्यान
द आचार्यश्री ने स्थलभद्र को उनकी इच्छानसार वाचना देनी शरू की। लगभग दस पूर्व में दो वस्त कम तक का अध्ययन हआ था कि उसके बाद श्रीभद्रबाह-स्वामी विहार करके क्रमशः पाटलीपुत्र पधारें और नगर के बाहर उद्यान में ठहरें। उस समय ग्रामानुग्राम विहार करती हुई स्थूलभद्र की सात बहनें (साध्वियों) भी उसी नगर में पधारी हुई थी। उन्होंने आचार्यश्री का पदार्पण सुना तो वंदन के लिए वहां आयी। गुरुमहाराज को वंदन करके उन्होंने पूछा-भगवन्! स्थूलभद्रमुनि कहाँ है? आचार्यश्री ने कहा-इसी मकान की ऊपरी मंजिल पर वे है।' बहनें भाई (साधु) को वंदनार्थ ऊपर की मंजिल पर जाने लगीं, उस समय बहनों को आते देखकर कुछ कौतुक (चमत्कार) बताने के | लिहाज से स्थूलभद्रमुनि ने सिंह का रूप बना लिया। भाई के बदले सिंह का रूप देखकर सभी साध्वियों एकदम घबराकर उल्टे पैरों लौट आयी और गुरुमहाराज से निवेदन किया-गुरुदेव! मालूम होता है, बड़े भाई को सिंह खा गया; क्योंकि वहां तो केवल एक सिंह बैठा है। आचार्यश्रीजी ने अपने ज्ञान में देखा और जानकर आज्ञा दी-वहीं जाओ और बड़े भाई को वंदन करो। वह वहीं पर है, वहां सिंह नहीं है। अतः साध्वियों वापिस गयी, तब वे अपने असली रूप में थे। साध्वियों ने स्थूलभद्रमुनि को वंदन किया और अपनी आप बीती सुनायी-मुनिवर्य! जब श्रीयक ने विरक्त होकर दीक्षा ली तो हमने भी दीक्षा ले ली। परंतु उसे प्रतिदिन इतनी अधिक भूख लगती थी कि वह एक दिन भी एक एकासन करने में समर्थ नहीं था। पर्युषण में संवत्सरी महापर्व आया तो मैंने बड़ी बहन के नाते श्रीयक मुनि से कहा-भाई! आज तो महापर्व का दिन है। अतः नौकारसी के स्थान पर पोरसी का पच्चक्खाण कर लो। मेरे कहने से उन्होंने वही पच्चक्खाण किया। पच्चक्खाण पूर्ण होने पर मैंने कहा-भाई! थोड़ी देर और रुक जाओ। और चैत्यपरिपाटी की धर्मयात्रा करते हुए भगवद् दर्शन करोगे, इतने में पुरिमड्ढ पच्चक्खाण आ जायगा। यह बात भी उन्होंने स्वीकारकर ली। तदनंतर तीसरे प्रहर तक के अवड्व-पच्चक्खाण करने के लिए कहा; उसे भी पूर्ण कर लिया। तब फिर | मैंने कहा-अब तो थोड़ी देर बाद ही प्रतिक्रमण का समय हो जायगा; फिर रात हो जायगी। उसे सोकर सुख पूर्वक काटी
जा सकेगी। इसलिए अब उपवास का पच्चक्खाण ले लो। मेरे आग्रह से उसने उपवास का पच्चक्खाण अंगीकार कर लिया। किन्तु रात को क्षुधा से अत्यंत पीड़ित हो गये, पेट में असह्य दर्द उठा और उसी में देवाधिदेव, गुरुदेव व नमस्कारमंत्र का स्मरण करते हुए उनका देहांत हो गया। मर करके वे देवलोक में पहुंचे। लेकिन ऐसा करने में मुझे ऋषिहत्या का पाप लगा है। अतः मैंने खिन्न होकर श्रमणसंघ से इसका प्रायश्चित्त मांगा। इस पर संघ ने कहा-तुमने |तो शुद्धभाव से तप करवाया था। तुम्हारी भावना उनको मारने की कतई नहीं थी। इसलिए तुम्हें इसका कोई प्रायश्चित्त
नहीं आता। तब मैंने कहा-इस बात को वर्तमान तीर्थंकर भगवान् साक्षात् कहें तो मेरे मन का समाधान हो सकता है; | तभी मुझे शांति मिल सकती है। अन्यथा मेरे दिल से यह शल्य नहीं जायगा। इस पर समग्र संघ ने कायोत्सर्ग किया, | जिसके प्रभाव से शासनदेवी उपस्थित हुई और कहने लगी-बताईए, मैं आपका कौन-सा कार्य करूं? संघ ने कहा-इन साध्वीजी को वर्तमान तीर्थकर सीमंधर-स्वामीजी के पास ले जाओ। देवी ने कहा-इनकी निर्विघ्नगति के लिए आप सब काउस्सग्ग में ही रहना। संघ ने भी वैसे ही किया। तब देखते ही देखते देवी ने मुझे श्री सीमंधर-स्वामी के पास पहुंचाया। वहां मैंने प्रभु को वंदना की। भगवान् ने मेरे आने का प्रयोजन जानकर कहा-भरतक्षेत्र से आयी हुई साध्वी निर्दोष है। तत्पश्चात् 'मेरे पर कृपा करके उन्होंने मुझे आश्वस्त करने के लिए दो चूलिकाएँ दी।' देवी के साथ वापस मैं यहां अपने स्थान पर लौटी। वहां से निःशंक होकर मैंने वे दोनों चूलिकाएँ श्री संघ को अर्पण की। इस मुनि स्थूलभद्र से आज्ञा लेकर वे सब अपने उपाश्रय में आयी।
साध्वियों के जाने के बाद स्थूलभद्रमुनि जब वाचना के लिए आचार्यश्री के पास आये तो उन्होंने वाचना देने से इन्कार करते हुए कहा-मुनि! तुम वाचना के अयोग्य हो। स्थूलभद्र स्मरण करने लगे कि दीक्षा से लेकर आज तक मैंने कौन-सा अपराध किया है। बहुत विचार करने पर भी जब उन्हें अपनी एक भी भूल याद नहीं आयी; तब उन्होंने 1. कहीं गुफा में है ऐसा उल्लेख भी है।

The Sangh said - Take these Sadhviji to the present Tirthankara Simandhar Swami. The Devi said - For their unimpeded journey, all of you stay in Kaussagg itself. The Sangh also did the same. Then, in the blink of an eye, the Devi took me to Shri Simandhar Swami. There I paid my respects to the Lord. Knowing the purpose of my coming, Bhagwan said - The Sadhvi who has come from Bharat Kshetra is innocent. Thereafter, 'gracing me, he gave me two Chulikas to reassure me.' With the Devi, I returned to my place here. From there, without any doubt, I offered those two Chulikas to Shri Sangh. Taking permission from this Muni Sthulabhadra, they all came to their shelter.
