" Let him go; do not call him back ; I shall see how many steps he goes; I am crossways at his heart, but my lover is only making a show (of going)."..... (2) हरिः नर्तितः प्राङ्गणे विस्मये पातितः लोकः ।
___ इदानीं राधापयोधरयोः यत् ( प्रति ) भाति तद् भवतु ॥ .
“ Hari was made to dance in the courtyard ; the people were struck with amazement ; may anything now befall the breasts of राधा." (3) सर्वसलावण्या गौरी नवा कापि विषग्रन्थिः ।
... . भटः प्रत्युत स म्रियते यस्य न लगति कण्ठे ॥
The fair maid is all beautiful like fresh विषग्रन्थि (a poisonous bulb .called बचनाग); the young man (भटः) however would die if she does not embrace him."
For एत्तहे मेह पिआन्ति जलु see 419. 4. 421. (1).मया उक्तं, त्वं धुरं धर, गलिवृषभैः ( कसर ) विनाटिताः ।
त्वया विना धवल नारोहति भरः, इदानीं विषण्णः किम् ॥ “I said ; 0 white bull, hold the yoke ;we are teased by the wicked bulls ; the load cannot be carried without * you ; why are you now depressed ?”
For मइं बुत्तउं see above. . . For जं मणु विच्चि न माइ see 360. 1. : 422. There are a number of aaft words for which Sk. equivalents are proposed in this sūtra.
शीघ्र = वहिल. . (1). एकं कदापि नागच्छसि अन्यत् शीघ्रं यासि । ..- मया मित्र प्रमाणितः त्वया यादृशः (त्वं यथा) खलः न हि ॥ ___. “ Sometimes (एकं ) you do not come; at other times you go away quickly ; I know, o friend, that there is no wicked person like you."
झकट = घंघल. (2) यथा सत्पुरुषाः तथा कलहाः यथा नद्यः तथा वलनानि ।
___ यथा पर्वताः तथा कोटराणि हृदय खिद्यसे किम् ॥
“ Just as there are many good men so there are many struggles ; there are rivers and there are turnings ;
