ठ् is changed to द्र when it is not in the beginning of a word or conjunct and when it follows a vowel
मठः - मढो । कमठ::- कमढो । शठः - सढो । कुठारः - कुढारो । जठरम्--- जठरं । कठोरम् - कढोरं । पठति - पढइ |

In fq, is optionally changed to and when so changed र् is changed to दू—
पिठरः -- पिहढो - पिढरो ( by 'ठ' ठू is changed to द्) ।
ललू डोनुडुगे ॥ १ । ३ । ३० ॥ p. 75—
डू, when it is not in the beginning of a word or conjunct and when it follows a vowel, is changed necessarily to लू, but not in उडु and words belonging to that class
गरुड:-गलुलो ( र् being changed to ल by 'हरिद्रादौ ' p. 31 ) । वडवानलः -- वलआणलो । तडागम् — तलाअं ।
The Sutra does not apply to and words of its class— उडुः-उडू । निबिडम्― निबिडं । गौडो - गउडो ( It is a पौरादि - 'पौरगे चाउत्' p. 70 ) । पीडितम् - पीडिअं । नीडम्-नीडं । नाडी - नाडी । Hemachandra mentions तडी in place of नाडी (कुमा०चरि०, Appendix p. 34 ) प्राकृ० चन्द्रिo follows Hemchandra - ' निबिडे पीडिते गौडे निगोडुतडित्सु न ' -- तडित् - तडी ।
