The initial followed by a conjunct consonant is optionally changed to ए. धम्मिल्लम्-धम्मिलं-धम्मेलं । Other instances given by Trivikrama are -सिन्दूरम्-सिंदूरं-सेंदूरं । बिल्वम्-बिलं-बेलं । विष्णुः -विस्- वेतू । पिण्डम्-पिंडं-पेंडं । चिन्ता is given as an exception-'कचिन्न भवति । चिन्ता ।'. मूषिकविभीतक-॥१।२ । ४३ ॥ p. 62In मूपिक &c. the initial s is changed to अ. मूषिकः-मूसओ । विभीतकः-वहेडओ ( भू is changed to हु by 'खघथधभाम्', the initial ई to ए by 'एल्पीडनीड', and त् to ड् by 'प्रतिगेप्रतीपगे', Vide p. 76)। हरिद्रा-हलद्दी-हलद्दा (Vide 'हरिद्रादौ । p. 31 by which र is changed to r and हरिद्राच्छाया' p. 100, by which जीप (ई) is optionally affixed to it ) ( Hem. remarks — हरिद्रायां विकल्प इत्यन्ये । हलिद्दी-हलिद्दा)। पथि-पहो ('अकारान्ते सत्यपि पथशब्दे पथिशब्दस्य रूपान्तरनिवृत्त्यर्थमयं योगः' प्राकृ० व्याक० वृत्ति of त्रिविक्रम ।) पृथिवी-पुढई-पुहई । ( It comes under ऋत्वादि's, Vide 'ऋतुगे' p. 67 and is therefore changed to उ, थ् is changed to द् by 'ढः पृथिव्यौषधनिशीथे' p. 78 and when not changed to द्, it is changed to ह by 'खघथधभाम्' p. 18, व् is dropped by 'प्रायो लुक् कग-' p.14)। प्रतिश्रुत्-पडंसुआ (त् being changed to ड् by 'प्रतिगेप्रतीपगे। p. 76, the final त् being changed to आ by 'अविद्युति स्त्रियामाल' p. 98. It belongs to मनस्विन्यादि and we have therefore Anusvara over ड by 'स्वरेभ्यो वक्रादौ' p. 53 ). एल्पीडनीड ॥१।२ । ५७ ॥ p. 62In पीड &c. ई is necessarily changed to ए. पीठ, not पीड is found in हेम०'s Sutra 'नीडपीठे वा' p.19 of कुमा० चरि०; but पीड is found in the Mss; in the Telugu printed edition, and also in the Ms. of प्राकृ० व्याक वृत्ति of त्रिविक्रम. पीड:-पेडं ( Trivikrama; but पीठ:--पेढं--पीढं Hem. ) । ( Trivikrama observes 'बहुलाधिकारात् पीडनीडयोर्विकल्पः । पीडं नीडं' )। नीडम्-नेडं-नीडं । कीदृशः-केरिसो. द् being dropped by 'प्रायो लुक् कगचजतदपयवाम्' p. 14 and a changed to रि by 'दृश्यक्सक्किनि' p. 34 )। पीयूषम्-पेऊसं । विभीतकः-वहेडओ । ईदृशः-एरिसो । आपीडः
