दैवगेखौ ॥ १ । ४ । ९२ ।। p. 28 -
In and other words the consonant which is not initial is doubled optionally
e. g. दैवम् — दइवं—दइव्वं । व्याकुलः – वाउलो - वाउलो । नखः - णक्खो - हो । नीडम्- नेडुंनेडं । निहितो - णिहित्तो-- णिहिओ । मृदुत्वम्माउक्कं—माउअं । व्याहृतो -वाहितो – वाहिओ | कुतूहलम् - कोउहलं—कोउहलं । स्थूलः— थुलो - धूलो-थोरो । एकः - एक्को - एगो - एओ । तूष्णीकः – तुण्डिको –— तुहिओ | मूकः — मुक्को— मूओ । सेवा - सेव्वा - सेवा । अस्मदीयम् — अम्ह क्रं - अम्हकेरं । हूतम् - हुत्तं - हूअं । स्त्यानम् - ठिण्णं - ठीणं । स्थाणुः - खण्णू-खाणू । वैकादौ गः ॥ १ । ३ । १४ ॥ p. 28 -

e. g. एकः - एगो एक्को - एओ । आकर्षः - आगरिसो - आअरिसो । लोकः - लोगो — लोओ | अमुकः - अमुगो - अमुओ । तीर्थकर : - तित्थगरो— तित्थ - अरो । आकारः - आगारो - आआरो । श्रावकः - सावगो— सावओ । उद्योतकरः- उज्जोअगरो - उज्जोअअरो ।

and have optionally added on to them. It is स्वार्थवाचक, ie, expresses only the sense of the base, does not add to it. एक एव एकलो एक्कलो एक्को वा । नव एव नवलो नवो वा । प्रथम is changed to पुदुम, पदुम, and पुढम by the Sutras 'प्रथमे प्थोः,' which changes the अ of प and थ simultaneously and successively to उ and ' प्रथमशिथिल मेथिशिथिर निषधेषु ' which changes letters of the dental class to दू; e g. पुढमं &c. । सिढि - लं | also सढिलं | मेढी । सिढिरो । णिसढो ।
स्व is changed to सुत्र by 'एकाचि श्वरस्वे' - In the words श्वस् and
is inserted before the last member of the final consonant, when these words consist of one syllable only; e.g. श्व:कृतम् is turned into सुओ कअं or सुवे कअं, and स्व into सुव. The rule does not hold in अश्व:-आसो and स्वजन:- सजणो; because these words have more than one syllable.
कतम is changed to कइम by 'मध्यमकतमे च' which teaches that the second vowel of मध्यम and कतम is changed to इ. e.g. मध्यम: - मज्झिमो । कतमः - कश्मो ।
