Jy is changed to 5 and is declined in the Plu. only, there being no dual in the Prakrita ; उहे &c. like सव्व. The change of to is according to the following Sâtra :खघथधभाम् ॥ १।३। २०॥ p. 18खु, घ, थ्, ध् and भ् are changed to हू when they are nob conjunct, not in the beginning of a word, and preceded by a
vowele. g. ख-शाखा-साहा । मुर्ख-मुहं । मेखला-मेहला । लिखति-लिहइ।
घ–मेघः-मेहो। जघनम्-जहणं ।माघः-माहो।श्लाघते-लाहइ-सलाहइ । थ-नाथः-नाहो । रथः-रहो । आवशथः-आवसहो। मिथुनम्-मिहुणं ।
कथयति-कहइ। ध-सुधा-छुहा । साधुः-साहू । बाधते-बाहइ । बधिरः-बहिरो । इन्द्रधनुः
-इंदहणू । भ-सभा-सहा । शुभं-सुहं । स्वभावः-सहावो । स्तनभरः-थणहरो।
शोभते-सोहइ । नभः-नहं । This change does not take place (1) When the letters are conjunct:
e.g. सौख्यम्-सोक्खम् । अर्घः-अग्यो । कथ्यते–कत्थइ । गृध्रः-गिद्धो।
दर्भः-दब्भो । लभ्यते-लब्भइ । (2) When they are in the beginning of a word:
e. g. खगः-खगो। घण्टा-घंटा । स्तनः-थणो । धनम्-धणं । भङ्गः
भंगो। (3) When they are not preceded by a vowel:
e. g. शङ्खः-संखो । सङ्घः--संघो। कन्था-कथा । बन्धः-बंधो। रम्भारंभा। उभय is changed to अवह, उहअ, or उवह and is declined like सव्व. पूर्व is changed to पुरिम or पुव्व by the following Sutra:मलिनतिपूर्ववैडूर्याणां मइलदिहिपुरिमवेरुलिआः ॥p. 28e. g. मलिनम्- महलं or मलिणं । धृतिः-दिही or धिई । पूर्वम्-पुरिमं or पुव्वं । वैडूर्यम्-वेरुलिअं or वेडुजं । एक is changed to एक-एग-एअ-एकल (all declined like सव्व) according to the following Sutras:
