पद्मपुराणे
दयां कुरु महासाध्वि मुनिमानसनिर्मले । इति वाचो विनिश्चेरुर्वारिविह्वललोकतः ॥४२॥ ततः सरसिरुगर्भकोमलं नखभावितम् । स्पृष्ट्वा वापीवधूमिहस्तैः पद्मक्रमद्वयम् ॥४३॥ प्रशान्तकलुषावर्त्ता त्यक्तभीषणनिस्वना । क्षणेन सौम्यतां प्राप्ता ततो लोकोऽभवत्सुखी ॥४४॥ उत्पलैः कुमुदैः पनैः संछन्ना साऽभवत्क्षणात् । सौरभ्यतीब गोधसङ्गीतकमनोहरा ॥४५॥ क्रौंचानां चक्रवाकानां हंसानां च कदम्बकैः । तथा कादम्बकादीनां सुस्वनानां विराजिता ॥४६॥ मणिकाञ्चनसोपानैर्वीचीसन्तानसङ्गिभिः । पुष्पर्मरकतच्छायाकोमलैश्वातिसत्तटा ॥४७॥ उत्तस्थावथ मध्येस्या विपुलं विमलं शुभम् । सहस्रच्छदनं पद्मविकचं विकटं मृदु ॥४८॥ नानाभक्तिपरोतांगं रत्नोद्योतांशुकावृतम् । आसीसिंहासनं तस्य मध्ये तुल्येन्दुमण्डलम् ॥४६॥ तत्रामरवरस्त्रीभिर्मा भैपोरिति सान्त्विता । सीताऽवस्थापिता रेजे श्रीरिवात्यद्भुतोदया ॥५०॥ कुसुमाञ्जलिभिः सार्द्ध साधु साध्विति निःस्वनः । गगनस्थैः समुत्सृष्टस्तुष्टै देवकदम्बकैः ॥५१॥ जुगुंजुमंजवो गुंजा विनेदुः पटहाः पटु । नांद्यो ननन्दुरायातं चक्कणुः काहलाः कलम् ॥५२॥ अशब्दायन्त शङ्खौघा धीरं तूर्याणि दध्वनुः । ववणुर्विशदं वंशाः कांसतालानि चक्कणुः ॥५३॥ वलिगता वेडितोऽष्टक्रष्टादिकरणोद्यताः । तुष्टा ननृतुरन्योन्यश्लिष्टा वैद्याधरा गणाः ॥५४॥ श्रीमजनकराजस्य तनया परमोदया। श्रीमतो बलदेवस्य पत्नी विजयतेतराम् ॥५५॥
रक्षा करो, हे मान्ये ! हे लक्ष्मि ! हे सरस्वति ! हे महाकल्याणि ! हे धर्मसहिते ! हे सर्वप्राणिहितैषिणि ! रक्षा करो ॥४१।। हे महापतिव्रते ! हे मुनिमानसनिर्मले ! दया करो। इस प्रकार जलसे भयभीत मनुष्योंके मुखसे शब्द निकल रहे थे ॥४२॥
___ तदनन्तर वापीरूपी वधू, तरङ्गरूपी हाथोंके द्वारा कमलके मध्यभागके समान कोमल एवं नखोंसे सुशोभित रामके चरणयुगलका स्पर्शकर क्षणभरमें सौम्यदशाको प्राप्त हो गई। उसकी मलिन भँवरें शान्त हो गई और उसका भयंकर शब्द छूट गया। इससे लोग भी सुखी हुए ॥४३-४४॥ वह वापी क्षण भरमें नील कमल, सफेद कमल तथा सामान्य कमलोंसे व्याप्त हो गई और सुगन्धिसे मदोन्मत्त भ्रमर समूहके संगीतसे मनोहर दिखने लगी ॥४५॥ सुन्दर शब्द करनेवाले कौञ्च, चक्रवाक, हंस तथा बदक आदि पक्षियोंके समूहसे सुशोभित हो गई ॥४३।। मणि तथा स्वर्ण निर्मित सीढ़ियों और लहरोंके बीच में स्थित मरकतमणिकी कान्तिके समान कोमल पुष्पोंसे उसके किनारे अत्यन्त सुन्दर दिखने लगे ॥४७॥
अथानन्तर उस वापीके मध्यमें एक विशाल, विमल, शुभ, खिला हुआ तथा अत्यन्त कोमल सहस्र दल कमल प्रकट हुआ और उस कमलके मध्यमें एक ऐसा सिंहासन स्थित हुआ कि जिसका आकार नानाप्रकारके देल-बूटोंसे व्याप्त था, जो रत्नोंके प्रकाश रूपी वस्त्रसे वेष्टित था, और कान्तिसे चन्द्रमण्डलके समान था ।।४८-४६॥ तदनन्तर 'डरो मत' इसप्रकार उत्तम देवियाँ जिसे सान्त्वना दे रही थीं ऐसी सीता सिंहासन पर बैठाई गई । उस समय आश्चर्यकारी अभ्युदयको धारण करनेवाली सीता लक्ष्मीके समान सुशोभित हो रही थो ॥५०।। आकाशमें स्थित देवोंके समूहने संतुष्ट होकर पुष्पाञ्जलियोंके साथ-साथ 'बहुत अच्छा, बहुत अच्छ।' यह शब्द छोड़े ॥५१॥ गुजा नामके मनोहर वादित्र गूंजने लगे, नगाड़े जोरदार शब्द करने लगे, नान्दी लोग अत्यधिक हर्षित हो उठे, काहल मधुर शब्द करने लगे, शङ्खोंके समूह बज उठे, तूर्य गम्भीर शब्द करने लगे, बाँसुरी स्पष्ट शब्द कर उठी तथा काँसेकी झाँझ मधुर शब्द करने लगीं ॥५२-५३।। वल्गित,
वेडित, उद्धृष्ट तथा क्रुष्ट आदिके करने में तत्पर, संतोषसे युक्त विद्याधरोंके समूह परस्पर एक दूसरेसे मिलकर नृत्य करने लगे ॥५४॥ सब ओरसे यही ध्वनि आकाश और पृथिवीके अन्त
