क्रीडयाऽपि कृतं सेहे नाज्ञाभङ्गं मनस्विनी । सुक्षिप्रेष्वपि कार्येषु भ्रूरभ्राम्यत्सविभ्रमम् ॥१३॥ यथेच्छ विद्यमानेऽपि मगिदर्पणसन्निधौ । मुखमुखातखड्गाने जातं व्यसनमीक्षितुम् ॥१४॥ समुत्सारितवीणाद्या नारीजनविरोधिनः । श्रोत्रयोरसुखायन्त कार्मुकध्वनयः परम् ॥१५॥ चक्षुः पञ्जरसिंहेषु जगाम परमां रतिम् । ननाम कथमप्यङ्गमुत्तमं स्तम्भितं यथा ॥१६॥ पूर्णेऽथ नवमे मासि चन्द्र श्रवणसङ्गते । श्रावणस्य दिने देवी पौर्णमास्यां सुमङ्गला ॥१७॥ सर्वलक्षणसम्पूर्णा पूर्णचन्द्रनिभानना । सुखं सुखकरात्मानमसूत सुतयुग्मकम् ॥१८॥ नृतमय्य इवाभूवंस्तयोरुद्गतयोः प्रजाः । भेरीपटहनिःस्वाना जाताः शङ्खस्वनान्विताः ॥१६॥ उन्मत्तमर्त्यलोकाभश्चारुसम्पत्समन्वितः । स्वस्प्रीत्या नरेन्द्रेण जनितः परमोत्सवः ॥२०॥ अनङ्गलवणाभिख्यामेकोऽमण्डयदेतयोः। मदनाङ्कुशनामान्यः सद्भूतार्थनियोगतः ॥२१॥ ततः क्रमेण तो वृद्धि बालको व्रजतस्तदा। जननीहृदयानन्दी प्रवीरपुरुषाङकुरौ ॥२२॥ रक्षार्थं सर्वपकणा विन्यस्ता मस्तके तयोः । समुन्मिषत्प्रतापाग्निस्फुलिङ्गा इव रेजिरे ॥२३॥ वपुगीरोचनापङ्कपिञ्जरं परिवारितम् । समभिव्यज्यमानेन सहजेनेव तेजसा ॥२४॥ विकटा हाटकाबद्धवैयाघ्रनखपंक्तिका । रेजे दर्पाकुरालीव समुद्भेदमिता हृदि ॥२५॥ आद्यं जल्पितमव्यक्तं सर्वलोकमनोहरम् । बभूव जन्म पुण्याहः सत्यग्रहणसन्निभम् ॥२६॥ मुग्धस्मितानि रम्याणि कुसुमानीव सर्वतः । हृदयानि समाकर्षन् कुलानीव मधुव्रतान् ॥२७॥
वचन अपने-आप उच्चरित होने लगते थे ||१२|| वह मनस्विनी क्रीड़ामें भी किये गये आज्ञा 'भङ्गको नहीं सहन करती थी तथा अत्यधिक शीघ्रताके साथ किये हुए कार्यों में भी विभ्रम पूर्वक 'भौहें घुमाती थी ॥१३॥ यद्यपि समीपमें इच्छानुकूल मणियोंके दर्पण विद्यमान रहते थे तथापि उसे उभारी हुई तलवारके अग्रभागमें मुख देखनेका व्यसन पड़ गया था ॥१४॥ वीणा आदिको दूर कर स्त्रीजनोंको नहीं रुचनेवाली धनुषकी टंकारका शब्द ही उसके कानोंमें सुख उत्पन्न करता था ।।१५।। उसके नेत्र पिंजड़ोंमें बन्द सिंहोंके ऊपर परम प्रीतिको प्राप्त होते थे और मस्तक तो बड़ी कठिनाईसे नम्रीभूत होता मानो खड़ा ही हो गया हो ।१६।।
तदनन्तर नवम महीना पूर्ण होने पर जब चन्द्रमा श्रवण नक्षत्र पर था, तब श्रावण मास की पर्णिमा के दिन, उत्तम मङ्गलाचारसे यक्त समस्त लक्षणोंसे परिपूर्ण एवं पूर्ण चन्द्रमाके समान मुखवाली सीताने सुखपूर्वक सुखदायक दो पुत्र उत्पन्न किये ॥१७-१८।। उन दोनोंके उत्पन्न होने पर प्रजा नृत्यमयीके समान हो गई और शङ्खोंके शब्दोंके साथ भेरियों एवं नगाड़ोंके शब्द होने लगे ।।१६।। बहिनकी प्रीतिसे राजाने ऐसा महान उत्सव किया जो उन्मत्त मनुष्य लोकके समान था और सुन्दर सम्पत्तिसे सहित था।॥२०॥ उनमेंसे एकने अनङ्गलवण नामको अलंकृत किया और दूसरेने सार्थक भावसे मदनाङ्कुश नामको सुशोभित किया ॥२१॥
तदनन्तर माताके हृदयको आनन्द देनेवाले, प्रवीर पुरुषके अंकुर स्वरूप वे दोनों बालक क्रम क्रमसे वृद्धिको प्राप्त होने लगे ॥२२॥ रक्षाके लिए उनके मस्तक पर जो सरसोंके दाने डाले गये थे वे देदीप्यमान प्रतापरूपी अग्निके तिलगोंके समान सुशोभित हो रहे थे ॥२३॥ गोरोचना की पङ्कसे पीला पीला दिखने वाला उनका शरीर ऐसा जान पड़ता था मानो अच्छी तरहसे प्रकट होनेवाले स्वाभाविक तेजसे ही घिरा हो ॥२४॥ सुवर्णमालामें खचित व्याघ्र सम्बन्धी नखोंकी बड़ी-बड़ी पंक्ति उनके हृदय पर ऐसी सुशोभित हो रही थी मानो दपके अंकुरोंका समूह ही हो ॥२५।। सब लोगोंके मनको हरण करनेवाला जो उनका अव्यक्त प्रथम शब्द था वह उनके जन्म दिनकी पवित्रताके सत्यंकार के समान जान पड़ता था अर्थात् उनका जन्म दिन पवित्र दिन है, यह सूचित कर रहा था ॥२६॥ जिस प्रकार पुष्प भ्रमरोंके समूहको आकर्षित करते हैं,
