कृतान्तवक्त्रसेनानीः शब्द्यतामाविलम्बितम् । सीता गर्भद्वितीया मे गृहादद्यैव नीयताम् ।।४४॥ एवमुक्तेऽअलि' बढ़ा सौमित्रिः प्रणतात्मकः । जगाद देव नो युक्तं त्यक्त्तुं जनकसम्भवाम् ॥४५।। सुमार्दवाङिघ्रकमला तन्वी मुग्धा सुखैधिता । एकाकिनी यथा यातु क वैदेही खिलेन वा ॥४६॥ गर्भभारसमाकान्ता परमं खेदमाश्रिता । राजपुत्री त्वया त्यक्ता संश्रयं कं प्रपद्यते ॥४७॥ वलिपुष्पादिकं दृष्ट लोकेन तु जिनाय किम् । कल्प्यते भक्तियुक्तेन को दोषः परदर्शने ॥४८॥ प्रसीद नाथ निर्दोषामसूर्यम्पश्यकोमलाम् । माऽज्यातीम थिली वीर भवदर्पितमानसाम् ॥४॥ ततोऽत्यन्तहढीभूतविरागः क्रोधभारभाक् । काकुत्स्थः प्रवरोऽवोचदप्रसन्नमुखोऽनुजम् ॥५०॥ लचमीधर न वक्तव्यं त्वया किञ्चिदतः परम् । मयैतनिश्चितं कृत्यमवश्यं साध्वसाधु वा ।।५।। निर्मानुष्ये वने त्यक्ता सहायपरिवर्जिता । जीवतु म्रियतां वाऽपि सीताऽऽत्मीयेन कर्मणा ॥५२॥ क्षणमप्यत्र मे देशे मा शिष्टनगरेऽपि वा । कुत एवं गृहे सीता मलवर्द्धनकारिणी ॥५३।। चतुरश्वमथाऽऽरुह्य रथं सैन्यसमावृतः । जय नन्देति शब्देन बन्दिभिः परिपूजितः ॥५४॥ समुच्छ्रितसितच्छत्रश्चापी कवचकुण्डली । कृतान्तवक्त्रसेनानीरीशितुः प्रस्थितोऽन्तिकम् ॥५५॥ तं तथाविधमायान्तं दृष्ट्वा नगरयोषिताम् । कथा बहुविकल्पाऽऽसीद् वितर्कागतचेतसाम् ॥५६॥
हुए मैंने लज्जाका अनुभव क्यों नहीं किया ? अथवा मूर्ख मनुष्योंके लिए क्या कठिन है ? ॥४१-४३।। कृतान्तवक्त्र सेनापतिको शीघ्र ही बुलाया जाय और अकेली गर्भिणी सीता आज ही मेरे घरसे ले जाई जाय ॥४४॥
__इस प्रकार कहने पर लक्ष्मणने हाथ जोड़ कर विनम्र भावसे कहा कि हे देव ! सीताको छोड़ना उचित नहीं है ॥४५।। जिसके चरण कमल अत्यन्त कोमल हैं, जो कृशाङ्गी है, भोली है
और सुख पूर्वक जिसका लालन-पालन हुआ है ऐसी अकेली सीता उपद्रवपूर्ण मार्गसे कहाँ जायगी ? ॥४६।। जो गर्भके भारसे आक्रान्त है ऐसी सीता तुम्हारे द्वारा त्यक्त होने पर अत्यखेदको प्राप्त होती हुई किसकी शरणमें जायगी ? ॥४७॥ रावणने सीताको देखा यह कोई अपराध नहीं है क्योंकि दूसरेके द्वारा देखे हुए वलि पुष्प आदिकको क्या भक्तजन जिनेन्द्रदेवके लिए अर्पित नहीं करते ? अर्थात् करते हैं अतः दूसरेके देखने में क्या दोष है ? ॥४८॥ हे नाथ ! हैवीर ! प्रसन्न होओ कि जो निदोष है, जिसने कभी सूये भी नहीं देखा है जो अत्यन्त कोमल है, तथा आपके लिए जिसने अपना हृदय अर्पित कर दिया है ऐसी सीताको मत छोड़ो ॥४६॥
__ तदनन्तर जिनका विद्वेष अत्यन्त दृढ़ हो गया था, जो क्रोधके भारको प्राप्त थे, और जिनका मख अप्रसन्न था ऐसे रामने छोटे भाई-लक्ष्मणसे कहा कि हे लक्ष्मीधर ! अब तुम्हें इसके आगे कुछ भी नहीं कहना चाहिए। मैंने जो निश्चय कर लिया है वह अवश्य किया जायगा चाहे उचित हो चाहे अनुचित ॥५०-५१।। निर्जन वनमें सीता अकेली छोड़ी जायगी । वहाँ वह अपने कर्मसे जीवित रहे अथवा मरे ॥५२॥ दोषकी वृद्धि करनेवाली सीता भी मेरे इस देश अथवा किसी उत्तम सम्बन्धीके नगरमें अथवा किसी घरमें क्षण भरके लिए निवास न करे ॥५३॥
___ अथानन्तर जो चार घोड़ों वाले रथ पर सवार होकर जा रहा था, सेनासे घिरा था, वन्दीजन 'जय' 'नन्द' आदि शब्दोंके द्वारा जिसकी पूजा कर रहे थे, जिसके शिर पर सफेद छत्र लगा हुआ था, जो धनुषको धारण कर रहा था तथा कवच और कुण्डलोंसे युक्त था ऐसा कृतान्तवक्त्र सेनापति स्वामीके समीप चला ॥५४-५५॥ उसे उस प्रकार आता देख, जिनके चित्त तर्क वितर्कमें लग रहे थे ऐसी नगरकी स्त्रियोंमें अनेक प्रकारकी चर्चा होने लगी ॥५६॥

How can the delicate, innocent, and well-nurtured Sita, whose lotus-like feet are very soft, go alone through a dangerous path? ||46||
Abandoned by you, the princess, burdened with pregnancy and overwhelmed with sorrow, will seek refuge in whom? ||47||
What is wrong with Ravana seeing Sita? In the world, do not devotees offer even fallen flowers, etc., to the Jina? Therefore, there is no fault in seeing another. ||48||
O Lord! O Hero! Be pleased. Do not abandon Sita, who is innocent, who has never seen a needle, who is very delicate, and who has devoted her heart to you. ||49||
Then Rama, whose hatred had become very strong, who was burdened with anger, and whose face was displeased, said to his younger brother, "O Lakshmīdhara! You should not say anything further. I have decided to do this, whether it is right or wrong." ||50-51||
Sita will be abandoned in a desolate forest, devoid of any companions. Let her live or die by her own karma. ||52||
Sita, who is a source of sin, will not dwell in my country, or in any noble city, or in any house, even for a moment. ||53||
Then, mounting a chariot drawn by four horses, surrounded by his army, and worshipped by his captives with shouts of "Victory!" and "Joy!", the commander of the army with the face of death, with a white umbrella raised above his head, armed with a bow, and adorned with armor and earrings, set out for the king's presence. ||54-55||
Seeing him approaching in this manner, the women of the city, whose minds were filled with speculation and conjecture, began to discuss the matter in many ways. ||56||
