पद्मपुराणे
अक्ताः सुगन्धिभिः पथ्यः स्ने है: वर्णमनोहरैः । ब्राणदेहानुकूलैश्च शुभैरुद्वर्तनैः कृतः ॥७२॥ स्थितानां स्नानपीठेपु प्राङ्मुखानां सुमङ्गलः । ऋथा स्नानविधिस्तेषां क्रमयुक्तः प्रवर्तितः ॥७३॥ वपुःकपणपानीयविसर्जनलयान्वितम् । हारि प्रवृत्तमातोद्यं सर्वोपकरणाश्रितम् ॥७॥ हैमर्मारकतैर्वाः स्फाटिकैरिन्द्रनीलजैः । कुम्भैगन्धोदकापूर्ण: स्नानं तेषां समापितम् ॥५॥ पवित्रवस्त्रसंवीताः सुस्नाताः सदलंकृताः । प्रविश्य चैत्यभवनं पद्माभंते ववन्दिरे ॥६॥ तेषां प्रत्यवसानार्था कार्या विस्तारिणी कथा । घृतायैः पूरिता वाप्यः सद्भच्यैः पर्वताः कृताः ॥७७॥ वनेषु नन्दनाघेपु वस्तुजातं यदुद्गतम् | मनोत्राणेक्षणाभीष्टं तत्कृतं भोजनावनौ ॥७८।। मृष्टमन्नं स्वभावेन जानक्या तु समन्ततः । कथं वर्णयितुं शक्यं पद्मनाभस्य चेतसः ।।७।। पञ्चानामथंयुक्तत्वमिन्द्रियाणां तदेव हि । यदाभीष्टसमायोगे जायते कृतनिवृतिः ॥८॥ तदा भुक्तं तदा घातं तदा स्पृष्टं तदेक्षितम् । तदा श्रुतं यदा जन्तोर्जायते प्रियसामः ।।८।। विपयः स्वर्गतुल्योऽपि विरहे नरकायते । स्वर्गायते महारण्यमपि प्रियसमागमे ।।२।। रसायनरसः कान्तरद्भुतैबहुवर्णकैः । भच्यैश्च विविधस्तेपा निवृत्ता भोजनक्रिया ॥८३।। खेवरेन्द्रा यथायोग्यं कृतभूमिनिवेशनाः । भोजिता कृतसन्मानाः परिवारसमन्विताः ।।८४॥

प्रस्तुत की ।।७१॥ सर्व प्रथम उन्हें सुगन्धित हितकारी तथा मनोहर वर्ण वाले तेलका मदन किया गया, फिर घ्राण और शरीरके अनुकूल पदार्थोंका उपटन किया गिया ॥७२॥ तदनन्तर स्नानको चौकीपर पूर्व दिशाकी ओर मुख कर बैठे हुए उनका बड़े वैभवसे क्रमपूर्वक मङ्गल मय स्नान कराया गया ॥७३॥ उस समय शरीरको घिसना पानी छोड़ना आदि की लयर्स सहित मनको हरण करने वाले तथा सब प्रकारकी साज-सामग्रीसे यक्त बाजे बज रहे थे ॥७॥ गन्धोदकसे परिपूर्ण सुवर्ण, मरकत मणि, हीरा, स्फटिक मणि तथा इन्द्रनीलमणि निर्मित कलशोंसे उनका अभिषेक पूर्ण हुआ ।।७५।। तदनन्तर अच्छी तरह स्नान करने के बाद उन्होंने पवित्र वस्त्र धारण किये, उत्तम अलंकारोंसे शरीर अलंकृत किया और तदनन्तर मन्दिरमें प्रवेश कर श्री पद्मप्रभ जिनेन्द्रकी वन्दना की ॥७६॥
अथानन्तर उन सबके लिए जो भोजन तैयार किया गया था, उसकी कथा बहुत विस्तृत है । उस समय घी दूध दही आदिकी बावड़ियाँ भरी गई थीं और खाने योग्य उत्तमोत्तम पदार्थों के मानो पर्वत बनाये गये थे अर्थात् पर्वतोंके समान बड़ी-बड़ी राशियाँ लगाई गई थीं ॥७७॥ मन घ्राण और नेत्रोंके लिए अभीष्ट जो भी वस्तुएँ चन्दन आदि वनामें उत्पन्न हुई थीं वे लाकर भोजन-भूमिमें एकत्रित की गई थीं ॥७८।। वह भोजन स्वभावसे ही मधुर था फिर जानकीके समीप रहते हुए तो कहना ही क्या था ? उस समय श्रीरामके मनकी जो दशा थी उसका वर्णन कैसे किया जा सकता है ! ||७|| गौतम स्वामी कहते हैं कि हे श्रेणिक ! पाँचो इन्द्रियोंकी सार्थकता तभी है जब इष्ट पदार्थोंका संयोग होने पर उन्हें संतोष उत्पन्न होता है ॥८०।। इस जन्तुने उसी समय भोजन किया है, उसी समय सूंघा है, उसी समय स्पर्श किया है, उसी समय देखा है और उसी समय सुना है जब कि उसे प्रियजनका समागम प्राप्त होता है । भावार्थ-प्रियजनके विग्हमें भोजन आदि कार्य निःसार जान पड़ते हैं ।।८१॥ विरह कालमें स्वर्ग तुल्य भो देश नरकके समान जान पड़ता है और प्रियजनके समागम रहते हुए महावन भी स्वर्गके समान जान पड़ता है ॥२॥ सुन्दर अद्भुत और बहुत प्रकारके रसायन सम्बन्धी रसों की तथा नाना प्रकारके भक्ष्य पदाथास उन सब को भोजन-क्रिया पूर्ण हुई ॥८३।। जो यथा योग्य भूमि पर बैठाये गये थे, जिनका सम्मान किया गया था तथा जो अपने अपने परिवार
