पद्मपुराणे अम्बरं भानुकर्णस्य परिधानममुञ्चत । ह्रीभाराकुलितो जातः स तद्वरणविह्वलः ।।११७॥ यावद्वासःसमाधानपरोऽसौ राक्षसोऽभवत् । भुजपाशोदरादस्य निःसृतस्तावदानिलिः ॥११८॥ नवो बद्धो यथा पक्षी निर्गतः पञ्जरोदरात् । आसीत्सुचकितो वातिः प्रत्युप्रद्यतिसंगतः ॥११९॥ ततो मुदितसंप्रीतौ विमानशिखरस्थितौ । हनूमददौ वीरौ रेजतुः सुरसंनिमौ ॥१२०।। ताभ्यामकुमारेण चन्द्रोदरसुतेन च । समं लक्ष्मीधरः सेना समाश्वासयितं स्थितः ॥१२१॥ मन्दोदरीसुतं तावदभियाय विभीषणः । स पितृव्यं सगालोक्य चिन्तामेतामपागतः ॥१२२॥ तातस्यास्य च को भेदो न्यायो यदि निरीक्ष्यते । ततोऽभिमुखमेतस्य नावस्थातुं प्रशस्यते ।।१२३।। नागपार्शरिमौ बद्धौ मृत्यं यातौ विसंशयम् । एतावच्चेह कर्तव्यं युक्तं तदवसर्पणम् ॥१२४॥ इति संचिन्त्य निर्याताविन्द्र जिन्मेघवाहनौ । गहनाहवमेदिन्याः कृतार्थत्वाभिमानिनौ ॥१२५|| अन्तद्धी सेविते ताभ्यां संभ्रान्तात्मा विभीषणः । त्रिशूलहेतिरामुक्तकङ्कटस्तरलेक्षणः ॥१२६॥ उत्तीर्य स्वरथादवीरस्तयोनिष्कम्पदेहयोः । अवस्थान्तरमद्राक्षीन्नागसायकनिर्मितम् ।।१२७ ॥ ततो लक्ष्मीधरोऽवोचत् पद्मनाभं विचक्षणः । श्रूयतां नाथ यत्रेमौ महाविद्याधराधिपौ ॥१२८॥ अत्यर्जितौ महासैन्यौ महाशक्तिसमन्वितौ । श्रीमामण्डलसुग्रीवौ नीतावस्त्रविमुक्तताम् ॥१२९॥ रावणस्य कुमाराभ्यां स्यूतावुरगमार्गणैः । तत्र त्वया मया वापि साध्यते किं दशाननः ।।१३०॥ ततः पुण्योदयात्पद्मः स्मृत्वा लक्ष्मणमब्रवीत् । तदा स्मर दर लब्धं योग्युपद्रवनाशने ॥१३॥
तबतक सुताराके पुत्र अंगदने छिपे-छिपे जाकर कुम्भकर्णका अधोवस्त्र खोल दिया जिससे वह लज्जासे व्याकुल हो वस्त्रके संभालनेमें लग गया ॥११६-११७॥ जबतक कुम्भकर्ण वस्त्रके सँभालने में लगता है तबतक हनुमान् उसके भुजापाशके मध्यसे निकल भागा ॥११८॥ जिस प्रकार नया बंधा पक्षी पिंजड़ेके मध्यसे निकलनेपर चकित हो जाता है, उसी प्रकार हनुमान् भी कुम्भकर्णके भुजबन्धनसे निकलनेपर चकित तथा उग्र तेजसे युक्त हो गया ॥११९।। तदनन्तर प्रसन्नता और सन्तोषसे युक्त वीर हनुमान और अंगद विमानके अग्रभागपर बैठ देवोंके समान सुशोभित होने लगे ।।१२०।। उधर अंगदके भाई अंग और चन्द्रोदरके पुत्र विराधितके साथ लक्ष्मण, विद्याधरोंकी सेनाको धैर्य बंधानेके लिए जा डटे ॥१२१।। अब विभीषण, मन्दोदरी के पुत्र इन्द्रजित्के सामने गया सो वह काकाको देख इस चिन्ताको प्राप्त हुआ ॥१२२॥ कि यदि न्यायसे देखा जाये तो पितामें और इसमें क्या भेद है ? इसलिए इसके सम्मख खडा रहना अच्छा नहीं है ॥१२३।। ये सुग्रोव और विभीषण नागपाशसे बंधे हैं सो निःसन्देह मृत्युको प्राप्त हो चुके हैं, इसलिए इस समय यहाँसे चला जाना ही उचित है ॥१२४|| ऐसा विचारकर कृतकृत्यताके अहंकारसे भरे इन्द्रजित्
और मेघवाहन दोनों ही युद्धभूमिसे बाहर निकल गये ।।१२५॥ उन दोनोंके अन्तहित हो जानेपर जिसकी आत्मा घबड़ा रही थी, जो त्रिशूल नामक शस्त्र धारण कर रहा था, जिसने कवच पहन रखा था, तथा जिसके नेत्र अत्यन्त चंचल थे ऐसा वीर विभीषण अपने रथसे उतरकर वहाँ गया जहाँ सुग्रीव और भामण्डल निश्चेष्ट पड़े हुए थे। वहां जाकर उसने नागपाशसे निर्मित दोनोंकी चिन्तनीय दशा देखो ॥१२६-१२७॥
तदनन्तर बुद्धिमान् लक्ष्मणने रामसे कहा कि हे नाथ ! सुनिए, जहाँ वे महाविद्याधरोंके स्वामी, अतिशय बलवान्, बड़ी-बड़ी सेनाओंसे सहित और महाशक्तिसे सम्पन्न ये भामण्डल और सुग्रीव भी रावणके पुत्रों द्वारा अस्त्र रहित अवस्थाको प्राप्त हो नागपाशसे बाँध लिये गये हैं वहाँ क्या तुम्हारे या हमारे द्वारा रावण जीता जा सकता है ? ||१२८-१३०।। तब पुण्योदयसे स्मरण कर रामने लक्ष्मणसे कहा कि भाई ! उस समय देशभूषण-कुलभूषण मुनियोंका उपसर्ग दूर करनेपर १. क्षरद्धरण- म. । २. स्फूतावुरुमार्गणैः म. ।
