पद्मपुराणे सभावापीविमानानामुद्यानोत्तमसमनाम् । चूर्णितानां तदाघातैभू मयः केवलाः स्थिताः ॥२०२॥ पादमार्गप्रदेशेषु ध्वस्तेषु वनवेश्मसु । महारथ्यापथा जाताः शुष्कसागरसंनिभाः ॥२०३॥ भग्नोत्तङ्गापणश्रेणिः पातिताऽनेककिङ्करः । बभूव राजमार्गोऽपि महासंग्रामभूसमः ॥२०४॥ पतद्भिस्तोरणस्तुङ कम्पितध्वजपडिक्तभिः । बभूवाम्बरमुत्पातादिव भ्रश्यत्सुरायुधम् ॥२०५॥ जवावेगात्समुद्यनी रजोमिबहुवर्णकैः । इन्द्रायुधसहस्राणि रचितानीव 'पुष्करे ॥२०६॥ पादावष्टम्मभिन्भेषु भूमागेषु निमजताम् । बभूव गृहशैलानां पातालेष्विव निस्वनः ॥२०७॥ दष्टया कंचित्करेणान्यं कंचित्पादेन किङ्करम् । उरसा कंचिदसेन वातेनान्यं जघान सः॥२०८॥ आलीयमानमात्राणां किङ्कराणां सहस्रशः। पततामुत्करै रथ्या जाता पूरसमागता ॥२०९।। हाहाहीकारगम्भीरः पौराणामुद्गगतो ध्वनिः । क्वचिच्च रत्नकूटानां भङ्गाकणकणस्वनः ।।२१०॥ वेगेनोत्पततस्तस्य समाकृष्टमहाध्वजाः । कोपादिवोद्ययुः पश्चात्कृतघण्टादिनिःस्वनाः ॥२१॥ उन्मूलितमहालाना बभ्रमुः परमा गजाः । वायुमण्डलपर्णानामश्वास्तुल्यत्वमागताः ॥२१२॥ अधस्तात् स्फुटिता वाप्यः प्राप्ताः पङ्कावशेषताम् । चक्रारूढेव निःशेषा जाता लङ्का समाकुला ॥२३॥ लङ्काकमलिनीखण्डं ध्वस्तराक्षसमीनकम् । श्रीशलवारणो यावद्विक्षोभ्य बहिराश्रितः ॥२१४॥
निकटवर्ती किंकर मारे गये थे ऐसा भयंकर युद्ध पुनः हुआ ॥२०१॥ उस समय हनुमानके प्रहारसे जो चूर-चूर किये गये थे ऐसे सभा, वापिका, विमान तथा बाग बगीचोंसे सुशोभित मकानोंमें केवल भूमि ही शेष रह गयी थी ॥२०२।। उसके पैदल चलनेके मार्गों में जो बाग-बगीचे तथा महल थे उन सबको उसने नष्ट कर दिया था, जिससे वे लम्बे-चौड़े मार्ग सूखे समुद्रके समान हो गये थे ॥२०३॥ जहां अनेक ऊँची-ऊंची दुकानोंकी पंक्तियाँ तोड़कर गिरा दी गयी थीं, तथा अनेक किंकर मारकर गिरा दिये गये थे ऐसा राजमार्ग भी महायुद्धकी भूमिके समान हो गया था ॥२०४||
गिरते हुए ऊंचे-ऊँचे तोरणों और कांपती हुई ध्वजाओंकी पंक्तिसे उस समय आकाश ऐसा जान पड़ता था मानो उत्पातके कारण उससे वज्र ही गिर रहा हो ।।२०५।। जंघाओंके वेगसे उड़ती हुई रंग विरंगी धूलियोंसे ऐसा जान पड़ता था मानो आकाशमें हजारों इन्द्रधनुष ही बनाये गये हों ॥२०६|| चरणोंके प्रहारसे विदीर्ण हुई भूमिमें महलरूपी पवंत नीचेको धंस रहे थे जिससे ऐसा भारी शब्द हो रहा था मानो वे महल रूपी पर्वत पातालमें ही धंसे जा रहे हों ॥२०७॥ वह किसी किंकरको दृष्टिसे मार रहा था, किसीको हाथसे पीस रहा था, किसीको पैरसे पीट रहा था, किसीको वक्षःस्थलसे मार रहा था, किसीको कन्धेसे नष्ट कर रहा था और किसीको वायुसे ही उड़ा रहा था ॥२०८|| आते ही के साथ गिरनेवाले हजारों किंकरोंके समूहसे वह लम्बा-चौड़ा मार्ग ऐसा हो गया था मानो उसमें पूर ही आ गया हो ॥२०९॥ कहीं नागरिक जनोंका हा हा ही आदिका गम्भीर शब्द उठ रहा था तो कहीं रत्नमय शिखरोंके टूटनेसे कणकण शब्द हो रहा था ॥२१०॥ जब हनुमान ऊपरको छलांग भरता था तब उसके वेगसे बड़ी-बड़ी ध्वजाएँ खिची चली जाती थीं जिससे वे ऐसी जान पड़ती थीं मानो घण्टाका शब्द करती हुई क्रोधसे उसके पीछे ही उड़ी जा रही हों ॥२११॥ बड़े-बड़े हाथी खम्भे उखाड़ कर इधर-उधर घूमने लगे और घोड़े वायु मण्डलसे उड़ते हुए पत्तोंकी तुल्यताको प्राप्त हो गये ॥२१२।। वापिकाएँ नीवेसे फूटकर बह गयी जिससे उनमें कीचड़ मात्र ही शेष रह गया तथा सम्पूर्ण लंका चक्र पर चढ़ी हुईके समान व्याकुल हो उठी ॥२१३॥
