पपपुराणे ततः कैतुमतस्योद्ये गुणैः श्रोत्रपथं गतैः । सर्वे ते परमं प्राप्ताः प्रमोदं कृतसंमदाः ॥५३॥ श्रुत्वा कन्यापि तां वार्ता विचकास प्रमोदतः । निशाकरकरालोकमात्रादिव कुमुदती ॥५४॥ अत्रान्तरेऽत्ययं प्राप्तः कालो हिमकणान्वितः । कामिनीवदनाम्भोजलावण्यहरणोद्यतः ॥५५।। नवं पटलमब्जानां नलिनीनामजायत । चिरोत्कण्ठितमध्वाशसमूहकृतसङ्गमम् ॥५६॥ घनः शाखाभृतां जज्ञे पत्रपुष्पाङ्कुरोद्भवः । मधुलक्ष्मीपरिष्वङ्गसंजातपुलकाकृतिः ॥५७॥ चूतस्य मञ्जरीजालं मधुव्रतकृतस्वनम् । मनोलोकस्य विव्याध पटलं मारसायकम् ॥५॥ कोकिलानां स्वनश्चक्रे मानिनीमानमञ्जनः । जनस्य व्याकुलीभावं वसन्तालापतां गतः ॥५९॥ रमणद्विजदष्टानामोष्ठानां वेदनाभृताम् । उदपद्यत वैशा चिरेण वरयोषिताम् ॥६०॥ स्नेहो बभूव चात्यन्तमन्योन्यं जगतः परम् । उपकारसमाधानपरेहाप्रकटीकृतः ॥६१॥ भ्रमरी भ्रमणधान्ता रमणः पक्षवायुना । परितो भ्रमणं कुर्वश्चकार विगतश्रमाम् ॥६२॥ दूर्वाप्रवालमुद्धृत्य सारङ्गयै पृषतो ददौ । तस्यास्तेनामृतेनेव कापि प्रीतिरजायत ॥६३॥ कैरिकण्डूयनं रेजे वदनभ्रंशिपल्लवम् । करिण्याः सुखसंभारनिमीलितविलोचनम् ॥६४॥ स्तबकस्तननम्रामिश्चलत्पल्लवपाणिभिः। समालिङ्गयन्त वल्लीमिर्धमराक्षोभिरङघ्रिपाः ॥६५॥
दक्षिणाशामुखोद्गीर्णः''प्रावर्तत समीरणः । प्रेर्यमाण इवानेन रविरासीदुदग्गतिः॥६६॥ युवाको स्वयं जाकर ही देख लीजिए ॥५२॥ तदनन्तर कर्ण मार्गको प्राप्त हुए पवनंजयके उत्कृष्ट गुणोंसे सब लोग परम हर्षको प्राप्त हो आन्तरिक प्रसन्नता प्रकट करने लगे ॥५३।। तथा कन्या भी उस वार्ताको सुनकर हर्षसे इस तरह खिल उठो जिस तरह कि चन्द्रमाकी किरणोंको देखने मात्रसे कुमुदिनी खिल उठती है ।।५४||
अथानन्तर इसी बीचमें वसन्त ऋतु आयी और स्त्रियोंके मुख कमलकी सुन्दरताके अपहरणमें उद्यत शीतकाल समाप्त हुआ ॥५५।। कमलिनी प्रफुल्लित हुई और नये कमलोंके समूह चिरकालसे उत्कण्ठित भ्रमर-समूहके साथ समागम करने लगे अर्थात् उनपर भ्रमरोंके समूह गूंजने लगे ॥५६॥ वृक्षोंके पत्र, पुष्प, अंकुर आदि घनी मात्रामें उत्पन्न हुऐ जो ऐसे जान पड़ते थे मानो वसन्त लक्ष्मीके आलिंगनसे उनमें रोमांच ही उत्पन्न हुए हों ॥५७॥ जिनपर भ्रमर गुंजार कर रहे थे ऐसे आमके मौरोंके समूह कामदेवके बाणों के पटलके समान लोगोंका मन बेधने लगे ।।५८|| मानवती स्त्रियोंके मानको भंग करनेवाला कोकिलाओंका मधुर शब्द लोगोंको व्याकुलता उत्पन्न करने लगा। वह कोकिलाओंका शब्द ऐसा जान पड़ता था मानो उसके बहाने वसन्त ऋतु ही वार्तालाप कर रही हो ॥५९|| स्त्रियोंके जो ओठ पतिके दाँतोंसे डॅसे जानेके कारण पहले वेदनासे युक्त रहते थे अब चिरकाल बाद उनमें विशदता उत्पन्न हुई ॥६०॥ जगत्के जीवोंमें परस्पर बहुत भारी स्नेह प्रकट होने लगा। उनका यह स्नेह उपकारपरक चेष्टाओंसे स्पष्ट ही प्रकट हो रहा था ॥६१॥ चारों ओर भ्रमण करता हुआ भ्रमर अपने पंखों की वायुसे, थकी हुई भ्रमरीको श्रमरहित करने लगा ॥६२।। उस समय हरिण दूर्वाके प्रवाल उखाड़-उखाड़कर हरिणीके लिए दे रहा था और उससे हरिणीको ऐसा प्रेम उत्पन्न हो रहा था मानो अमत ही उसे मिल रहा हो ॥६३।। हाथी हथिनी के लिए खुजला रहा था। इस कार्यमें उसके मुखका पल्लव छूटकर नीचे गिर गया था और हथिनीके नेत्र सुखके भारसे निमीलित हो गये थे ॥६४॥ जो गुच्छेरूपी स्तनोंसे झुक रही थीं, जिनके पल्लवरूपी हाथ हिल रहे थे और ऊपर बैठे हुए भ्रमर ही जिनके नेत्र थे ऐसी लतारूपी स्त्रियाँ वृक्षरूप पुरुषोंका आलिंगन कर रही थीं ॥६५॥ दक्षिण दिशाके मुखसे प्रकट हुआ मलय१. केतुमत्या अयमिति कैतुमतस्तस्य पवनंजयस्य । २. कैतुमतस्योच्चै-। ३. भ्रमर । ४. स्मरपत्रिणाम् म. । ५. उपपद्यत म.। ६. -मुदत्य म. । ७. करिकण्डूयितं म.। ८. वदनं भ्रंशि म.। २. करिण्यां म.। १०. समलिङ्गचन्त म.। ११. मुखोद्गीर्णाः म. ।

The lips of the women, previously affixed with pain from their husbands' bites, now experienced a refreshing clarity after a long time. 60. A heavy affection began to manifest among the beings of the world, apparent through their altruistic deeds. 61. The wandering bumblebee, with the wind of its wings, began to relieve a tired bumblebee from its exertions. 62. At that time, a buck was uprooting tender grass for the doe, which brought her delight akin to receiving nectar. 63. The elephant was scratching itself for the comfort of the female elephant. In this act, its mouth's foliage fell and the female elephant's eyes closed with pleasure. 64. The vine-like women, with clusters of breasts leaning down and hands like leaves swaying, embraced the tree-like men with the bees perched upon their eyes. 65.
