________________ १४८ पद्मपुराणे यदाज्ञापयसीत्युक्त्वा कृत्वा चरणवन्दनाम् । आपृच्छय पितरी नवा 'निर्गतोऽसौ सुमङ्गलम् ॥१३१।। अध्यतिष्टच्च मदितो लड़ां शङ्काविवर्जितः । विद्याधरसमहेन शिरसा तशासनः ।।१३२॥ प्रीतिमत्यां समुत्पन्नः सुमालितनयस्तु यः। नाम्ना रत्नश्रवाः शूरस्त्यागी भुवनवत्सलः ।।१३३।। मित्रोपकरणं यस्य जीवितं तुङ्गचेतसः । भृत्यानामुपकाराय प्रभुत्वं भूरितेजसः ॥१३४॥ लब्धवर्णोपकाराय वैदग्ध्यं दग्धदुर्मतेः । बन्धूनामुपकाराय लक्ष्म्याश्च परिपालनम् ।।१३५।। ईश्वरत्वं दरिद्राणामुपकारार्थमुन्नतम् । साधूनामुपकारार्थ सर्वस्वं सर्वपालिनः ।।१३६॥ सुकृतस्मरणार्थं च मानसं मानशालिनः । धर्मोपकरणं चायुः वीर्योपकृतये वपुः ।।१३७।। पितेव प्राणिवर्गस्य यो बभूवानुकम्पकः । सुकाल इव चातीतः स्मर्यतेऽद्यापि जन्तुभिः ।।१३८॥ परस्त्री मातृवद् यस्य शीलभूषणधारिणः । परद्रव्यं च तृणवत्परश्च स्वशरीरवत् ।।१३९॥ गुणिनां गणनायां यः प्रथमं गणितो बुधैः । दोषिणां च समुल्लापे स स्मृतो नैव जन्तुभिः ॥ ४०॥ अन्यैरिव महाभूतः शरीरं तस्य निर्मितम् । अन्यथा सा कुतः शोभा बभूवास्य तथाविधा ॥१४१॥ प्रसेकममृतेनेव चक्रे संभाषणेषु सः । महादानमिवोदात्तचरितो विततार च ॥१४२।। धर्मार्थकामकार्याणां मध्ये तस्य महामतेः । धर्म एव महान् यत्नो जन्मान्तरगतावभूत् ।।१४३॥ लेकर चार लोकपालोंके सिवाय पंचम लोकपाल हो ॥१३०॥ 'जो आपकी आज्ञा है वैसा ही करूँगा' यह कहकर वैश्रवणने उसके चरणोंमें नमस्कार किया। तदनन्तर माता-पितासे पूछकर और उन्हें नमस्कार कर वैश्रवण मंगलाचारपूर्वक अपने नगरसे निकला ॥१३१॥ विद्याधरोंका समूह जिसकी आज्ञा सिरपर धारण करते थे ऐसा वैश्रवण निःशंक हो बड़ी प्रसन्नतासे लंकामें रहने लगा ॥१३२।। इन्द्रसे हारकर सुमाली अलंकारपुर नगर (पाताललंका) में रहने लगा था। वहाँ उसकी प्रीतिमती रानोसे रत्नश्रवा नामका पुत्र हुआ। वह बहुत ही शूरवीर, त्यागी और लोकवत्सल था ॥१३३।। उस उदारहृदयका जीवन मित्रोंका उपकार करनेके लिए था, उस तेजस्वीका तेज भृत्योंका उपकार करनेके लिए था ॥१३४।। दुर्बुद्धिको नष्ट करनेवाले उस रत्नश्रवाका चातुर्य विद्वानोंका उपकार करनेके लिए था, वह लक्ष्मीकी रक्षा बन्धुजनोंका उपकार करने के लिए करता था ॥१३५।। उसका बढ़ा-चढ़ा ऐश्वर्य दरिद्रोंका उपकार करनेके लिए था। सबकी रक्षा करनेवाले उस रत्नश्रवाका सर्वस्व साधुओंका उपकार करनेके लिए था ॥१३६।। उस स्वाभिमानीका मन पुण्य कार्योंका स्मरण करनेके लिए था। उसकी आयु धर्मका उपकार करनेवाली थी और उसका शरीर पराक्रमका उपकार करनेके लिए था ॥१३७॥ वह पिताके समान प्राणियोंके समूहपर अनुकम्पा करनेवाला था। बीते हुए सुकालको तरह आज भी प्राणी उसका स्मरण करते हैं ॥१३८|| शीलरूपी आभूषणको धारण करनेवाले उस रत्नश्रवाके लिए परस्त्रो माताके समान थी। पर-द्रव्य तणके समान था और पर-पुरुष अपने शरीरके समान था अर्थात जिस प्रकार वह अपने शरीरकी रक्षा करता था उसी प्रकार पर-पुरुषकी भी रक्षा करता था ॥१३९|| जब गुणी मनुष्योंकी गणना शुरू होती थी तब विद्वान् लोग सबसे पहले इसीको गिनते थे और जब दोषोंकी चर्चा होती थी तब प्राणी इसका स्मरण ही नहीं करते थे ॥१४०।। उसका शरीर मानो पृथिवी आदिसे अतिरिक्त अन्य महाभूतोंसे रचा गया था अन्यथा उसकी वह अनोखी शोभा कैसे होती ? ॥१४१।। वह जब वार्तालाप करता था तब ऐसा जान पड़ता था मानो अमृत ही सींच रहा हो। वह इतना उदात्तचरित था कि मानो हमेशा महादान ही देता रहता हो ॥१४२।। जन्मान्तरमें भी उस १. निर्गतासी म.। Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
