## Seventh Chapter **147** The city whose name was renowned on earth, the king of the city was known by the same name. ||116|| Those who reside in the city of Asura, the celestial beings, are known as Asuras throughout the earth. ||117|| The Yakshas in the city of Yaksha-geet are called Yakshas, the Kinnaras in the city of Kinnara are called Kinnaras, and those in the city of Gandharva are known as Gandharvas. ||118|| Ashwini, Vasu, Vishwe, and Vaishvanara, along with their followers, engage in divine play, endowed with knowledge and strength. ||119|| Having attained a human birth, and obtaining vast wealth on earth, he considered himself the king of the gods, worshipped by all beings. ||120|| Indra, heaven, and other gods were all forgotten by him. His wife, Nandavati, gave birth to two daughters. ||126|| The elder was named Kaushiki, and the younger was Kekasi. The elder daughter was given to Vishrava, the wealthy Yaksha of Yakshapur. ||127|| From her was born Vaishravana, with auspicious features. He had a hundred eyes, was wealthy, and a delight to the eyes of women. ||128|| Thus, Indra called Vaishravana and honored him, saying, "Go to Lanka and rule over my celestial beings. ________________ सप्तमं पर्व १४७ पुरस्य यस्य यन्नाम पृथिव्यां ख्यातिमागतम् । तेनैव ख्यापिता नाम्ना पौरास्तत्र सुरेशिना ॥११६।। असुराख्य नभोगानां नगरे निवसन्ति ये। असुराख्या इमे जाताः सकले धरणीतले ॥११७॥ यक्षगीते पुरे यक्षाः किन्नराह्वे च किन्नराः । गन्धर्वसंज्ञया ख्याताः पुरे गन्धर्वनामनि ॥११८॥ अश्विनी वसवो विश्वे वैश्वानरपुरस्सराः । कुर्वन्ति त्रिदशक्रीडां विद्याबलसमन्विताः ॥११९।। अवाप्य संमवं योनौ प्राप्य श्रीविस्तरं भुवि । प्रणतो भूरिलोकेन मन्यते स्वं सुरेश्वरम् ॥१२०॥ इन्द्रः स्वर्गः सुराश्चान्ये समस्तास्तस्य विस्मृताः । संपनी रतिमेतस्य नित्योत्सव विधायिनः ।।१२१॥ स्वामिन्दं पर्वतं स्वर्ग लोकपालान् खगेश्वरान् । निजांश्च सकलान् देवान् स मेने भूतिगर्वितः ॥१२२।। मत्तोऽस्ति न महान् कश्चित्पुरुषो भुवनत्रये । अहमेवास्य विश्वस्य प्रणेता विदिताखिलः ।।१२३॥ विद्याभृच्चक्रवर्तित्वमिति प्राप्य स गर्वितः । फलमन्वभवत् पूर्वजन्मोपात्तसुकर्मणः ।।१२।। भागेऽत्र यो व्यतिक्रान्तस्तं वृत्तान्तमतः शृणु । धनदस्य समुत्पत्तिः श्रेणिक ज्ञायते यथा ॥१२५।। व्योमबिन्दुरिति ख्यातः पुरे कौतुकमङ्गले । भार्या नन्दवती तस्यामुत्पन्नं दुहितद्वयम् ॥१२६।। कौशिकी ज्यायसी तत्र केकसी च कनीयसी । ज्येष्टा विश्रवसे दत्ता पुरे यक्षविनिर्मिते ।।१२७।। तस्यां वैश्रवणो जातः शुभलक्षणविग्रहः । शतपत्रेक्षणः श्रीमानङ्गनानयनोत्सवः ।।१२८॥ एवमुक्तः स चाहूय शक्रेण कृतपूजनः । ब्रज लङ्कापुरीं शाधि प्रियस्त्वं मम खेचरान् ।।१२९॥ चतुर्णा लोकपालानामद्य प्रभृति पञ्चमः । लोकपालो भव त्वं मे मत्प्रसादान्महाबलः ॥१३०॥ सागरके द्वीपमें विद्यमान किष्कु नामक नगरकी दक्षिण दिशामें स्थापित किया था। इस प्रकार यह अपने पुण्यके प्रबल फलको भोगता हुआ समय व्यतीत करता था ॥११५।। जिस नगरका जो नाम पृथिवीपर प्रसिद्ध था इन्द्रने उस नगरके निवासियोंको उसी नामसे प्रसिद्ध कराया था ॥११६॥ विद्याधरोंके असर नामक नगर में जो विद्याधर रहते थे पथिवीतलपर वे असर नामसे प्रसिद्ध हुए ॥११७॥ यक्षगीत नगरके विद्याधर यक्ष कहलाये। किन्नर नामा नगरके निवासी विद्याधर किन्नर कहलाये और गन्धर्वनगरके रहनेवाले विद्याधर गन्धर्व नामसे प्रसिद्ध हुए ॥११८।। अश्विनीकुमार, विश्वावसु तथा वैश्वानर आदि विद्याधर विद्याबलसे सहित हो देवोंकी क्रीड़ा करते थे ॥११९।। इन्द्र यद्यपि मनुष्य योनिमें उत्पन्न हुआ था फिर भी वह पृथिवीपर लक्ष्मीका विस्तार पाकर अपने आपको इन्द्र मानने लगा। सब लोग उसे नमस्कार करते थे ॥१२०॥ सम्पदाओंसे परम प्रीतिको प्राप्त तथा निरन्तर उत्सव करनेवाले उस इन्द्र विद्याधरकी समस्त प्रजा यह भूल गयी थी कि यथार्थमें कोई इन्द्र है, स्वर्ग है अथवा देव हैं ॥१२१।। वभवक गवर्म फंसा इन्द्र, अपने आपको इन्द्र, विजयाद्धं गिरिको स्वर्ग, विद्याधरोंको लोकपाल और अपनी समस्त प्रजाको देव मानता था ॥१२२।। तीनों ही लोकोंमें मुझसे अधिक महापुरुष और कोई दूसरा नहीं है। मैं ही इस समस्त जगत्का प्रणेता तथा सब पदार्थोंको जाननेवाला हूँ ॥१२३।। इस प्रकार विद्याधरोंका चक्रवर्तीपना पाकर गर्वसे फूला इन्द्र विद्याधर अपने पूर्व जन्मोपार्जित पुण्य कर्मका फल भोगता था ॥१२४॥ गौतम स्वामी राजा श्रेणिकसे कहते हैं कि हे राजन् ! इस भागका जो वृत्तान्त निकल चुका है उसे सुनो जिसमें धनदकी उत्पत्तिका ज्ञान हो सके ५|| कौतूकमंगल नामा नगरमें व्योमबिन्द नामका विद्याधर रहता था। उसकी नन्दवती भार्याके उदरसे दो पुत्रियाँ उत्पन्न हुईं ॥१२६।। उनमें बड़ीका नाम कौशिकी और छोटीका नाम केकसी था। बड़ी पुत्री कौशिकी यक्षपुरके धनी विश्रवसके लिए दी गयो। उससे वैश्रवण नामका पुत्र हुआ। इसका समस्त शरीर शुभ लक्षणोंसे सहित था, कमलके समान उसके नेत्र थे, वह लक्ष्मीसम्पन्न था तथा स्त्रियोंके नेत्रोंको आनन्द देनेवाला था ॥१२७-१२८॥ इन्द्र विद्याधरने वैश्रवणको बुलाकर उसका सत्कार किया और कहा कि तुम मुझे बहुत प्रिय हो इसलिए लंका नगरी जाकर विद्याधरोंपर शासन करो ॥१२९।। तुम चूँकि महाबलवान हो अतः मेरे प्रसादके कारण आजसे ||१२५ Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
