हरिवंशपुराणे खचरदेवनृपामरजन्मजं नृपजयन्तविमानभवोद्भवम् । न हि सुखं' बहु सागरजीविनः समनुभूतमभून्मम तृप्तये ।।९।। कतिपयाहमवं वत किं पुनः सुलभमप्यतिमानुषमप्यलम् । भवति तृप्तिकरं मम सांप्रतं सुखमसारमसारतयायुषः ॥९९।। अत इदं क्षयि तापकरं सुखं विषयजं प्रविहाय महोद्यमः । क्षयविमुक्तमतापजमात्मजं शिवमुखं महता तपसार्जये ।।१०।। इति तदा मनसा वचसा समं सुपरिचिन्तयति ध्रुवमीश्वरे । शशिनिभाः खलु पञ्चमकल्पजास्तुषितवयरुणार्क पुरस्सराः ॥१०॥ लघु समेत्य नता नतमौलयः कृतकराञ्जलयस्त्रिदशा जगुः । समय एष विभो भरतेऽधुना त्वमिह वर्तय तीर्थमिति प्रभम् ॥१०२॥ प्रतिविबुद्धपथः स्वयमेव स प्रतिवियोधकदेवगिरोऽस्य ताः । अनुवदन्त्यपि ताः पुनरुक्ततां फलति चावसरे पुनरुक्तता ॥१०३।। लघु विमुच्य मृगान् मृगबान्धवो नृपसतैः प्रविवेश पुरं प्रभः । सपदि तत्र नृपासनभूषणं नुनुवुरेत्य पुरेव सुरेश्वराः ।।१०४।। तमुपवेश्य ततः स्नपनासने समुपनीतपयःपयसा सुरैः । सममिषिच्य विभूष्य सुरोचितस्रगनुलेपनवस्त्र विभूषणैः ।।१०५।। सुहरिविष्टरवर्तितमीश्वरं हरिबलान्वितमपसुरासुराः ।
बभुरतीव तदा परितः स्थिता प्रथममेरुमिवोरुकुलाचलाः ।।१०६।। औरकी बात जाने दो मैंने स्वयं सागरों पर्यन्त विद्याधरेन्द्र, देवेन्द्र और नरेन्द्रके जन्ममें राजाओं तथा जयन्त विमानमें समुत्पन्न सुखका उपभोग किया है पर वह मेरी तृप्तिके लिए नहीं हुआ ॥९८॥ यद्यपि मुझे लोकोत्तर सुख सुलभ है तथापि वह कुछ ही दिन ठहरनेवाला है, निःसार है और मेरी आयु भी असार है अतः वह मेरे लिए तृप्ति करनेवाला कैसे हो सकता है ? ||९९।। इसलिए मैं इस विनाशीक एवं सन्तापकारी विषयजन्य सुखको छोड़कर महान् उद्यम करता हुआ अत्यधिक तपसे अविनाशी, असन्तापसे 'उत्पन्न आत्मोत्थ मोक्ष सुखका उपार्जन करता हूँ ॥१००।। भगवान् उस समय मन-वचनसे इस प्रकारका विचार कर ही रहे थे कि उसी समय पंचम स्वर्गमें उत्पन्न, चन्द्रमाके समान श्वेतवर्ण तुषित, वह्नि, अरुण, आदित्य आदि लौकान्तिक देव शीघ्र ही आ पहुंचे और मस्तक झुकाकर तथा हाथ जोड़कर निवेदन करने लगे कि हे प्रभो! इस समय भरतक्षेत्र में तीर्थ प्रवर्तानेका समय है इसलिए तीर्थप्रवृत्त कीजिए॥१०१-१०२॥ भगवान स्वयं ही मार्गको जानते थे इसलिए लोकान्तिक देवोंके उक्त वचन यद्यपि पुनरुक्त बातका ही कथन करते थे तथापि अवसरपर पुनरुक्तता भी फलीभूत होती है ॥१०३।। मृगोंके हितैषो भगवान्ने शीघ्र ही मृगोंको छोड़ दिया और राजकुमारोंके साथ स्वयं नगरीमें प्रवेश किया। नगरीमें जाकर वे राज्यसिंहासनको अलंकृत करने लगे और इन्द्रोंने पहलेके समान आकर उनकी स्तुति की ॥१०४।। तदनन्तर इन्द्रोंने उन्हें स्नानपीठपर विराजमान कर देवोंके द्वारा लाये हुए क्षीरोदकसे उनका अभिषेक किया और देवोंके योग्य माला, विलेपन, वस्त्र एवं आभूषणोंसे विभूषित किया ॥१०५॥ उत्तम सिंहासनके ऊपर विराजमान भगवान्को घेरकर

They bowed their heads, folded their hands, and pleaded, "O Lord! This is the time to establish a Tirtha in the Bharat Kshetra. Please initiate the Tirtha." ||101-102|| The Lord knew the path himself, so the words of the Laukantika Devas, though repeating what was already known, were still fruitful in this context. ||103|| The Lord, compassionate towards the deer, quickly released them and entered the city with the princes. Upon reaching the city, they adorned the royal throne, and Indra, as before, came and praised him. ||104|| Then, Indra seated him on the bathing platform and showered him with milk brought by the Devas. They adorned him with garlands, unguents, clothes, and ornaments befitting the Devas. ||105|| The Lord, seated on the magnificent throne, was surrounded by the Asuras and the Devas, who were like the great mountain ranges surrounding Mount Meru. ||106||
