हरिवंशपुराणे माथुराः सौर्यजा वीर्यपुरपौराः पुरा यथा । यथास्वं कृतसंकेतसंनिवेशा ययुधतिम् ॥४४॥ पुर्यामर्धचतुर्थानि दिनानि धनदाज्ञया । यक्षा ववृषुरक्षीणधनधान्यादि धामसु ॥४५॥ तत्र स्थितस्य कृष्णस्य प्रतापेन वशीकृताः । अपरान्तिकभूपालाः शासनं प्रतिपेदिरे ॥४६॥ बहुराजसहस्राणां तनयाः स सहस्रशः । परिणीय ततो रेमे यथेष्टं द्वारिकापतिः ॥४७॥ तत्र नेमिकुमारोऽपि कुमार इव चन्द्रमाः । संवर्धते स्म निःशेषकलानिलय विग्रहाः ॥४८॥ दशाहवदनाम्मोजविकासकरणोदयः । बालमानुर्बमासेऽसौ ज्योतिधूततमस्तरः ॥१९॥ रामदामोदरानन्दं प्रत्यहं प्रतिवर्धयन् । चकार क्रीडितं बाल्ये पौरनेत्रमनोहरम् ॥५०॥ समस्तयदुपत्नीनां कराकरमितस्ततः । अलंकुर्वन्नलंरूपी स ययौ यौवनोदयम् ॥५१॥ प्रव्यक्तलक्षणे तत्र यूनि श्यामाम्बुजेक्षणे । विश्रान्तदृष्टिमन्यत्र नेतुं शेकुर्न योषितः ॥५२॥ जिनरूपशरो दूराजगतो हृदयस्थलीम् । बिभेद न पुनर्जेंनी पररूपशरायतिः ॥५३॥ नोपमा जिनरूपस्य नोपमेयं क्षितौ यतः। उपमानोपमेयार्थ खिद्यते स्म हरिस्ततः ॥५४॥ स्वान्तरङ्गजनैर्जातु क्रियमाणासु केलिषु । स्वविवाहकथास्वीशः स्मेरास्यो लजते स्वयम् ॥५५॥ बोधत्रयाम्बुनि—तमोहनीयकलङ्कजम् । न तस्य भूतिधूलीभिधूसरीकृतमान्तरम् ॥५६॥
सब लोग अपने परिवारके साथ यथायोग्य सुखसे ठहर गये ॥४३॥ मथुरा, सूर्यपुर और वीर्यपुरके निवासी लोग अपने-अपने मोहल्लोंके पूर्व-जैसे ही नाम रखकर यथायोग्य सन्तोषको प्राप्त हुए ॥४४॥ कुबेरकी आज्ञासे यक्षोंने इस नगरीके समस्त भवनोंमें साढ़े तीन दिन तक अटूट धन-धान्यादिकी वर्षा की थी ॥४५॥ जब श्रीकृष्ण वहां रहने लगे तब उनके प्रतापसे वशीभूत हो पश्चिमके राजा उनकी आज्ञा मानने लगे ॥४६॥ तदनन्तर द्वारिकापुरीके स्वामी श्रीकृष्ण अनेक राजाओंकी हजारों कन्याओंके साथ विवाह कर वहां इच्छानुसार क्रीड़ा करने लगे ॥४७॥
जिनका शरीर समस्त कलाओंका स्थान था ऐसे नेमिकुमार भी वहां बालचन्द्रमाके समान दिनों-दिन बढ़ने लगे ॥४८॥ जिनका उदय यादवोंके मुख-कमलको विकसित करनेवाला था, एवं जिन्होंने अपनी ज्योतिसे अन्धकारके समूहको नष्ट कर दिया ऐसे नेमिकुमाररूपी बालसूर्य अत्यधिक सुशोभित हो रहे थे ॥४९॥ प्रतिदिन बलभ और श्रीकृष्णके आनन्दको बढ़ाते हुए नेमिकुमार बाल्य अवस्थामें नगरनिवासी लोगोंके नेत्र और मनको हरण करनेवाली क्रीड़ा करते थे ॥५०॥ अतिशय रूपके धारक भगवान् नेमिनाथ जहां-तहाँ समस्त यादवोंकी स्त्रियोंके एक हाथसे दूसरे हाथको सुशोभित करते हुए यौवन अवस्थाको प्राप्त हुए ॥५१॥ जिनके शरीरमें अनेक शुभ लक्षण प्रकट थे, तथा जिनके नेत्र नील कमलके समान थे ऐसे युवा नेमिकुमारपर लगी दृष्टिको स्त्रियाँ दूसरी जगह ले जाने में समर्थ न हो सकीं ॥५२॥ भगवान्के रूपरूपी बाणने दूरसे ही जगत्के जीवोंको हृदयस्थलीको भेद दिया था परन्तु उनको हृदयस्थलोको दूसरोंका रूपरूपी बाणोंका समूह नहीं भेद सका था। भावार्थ-यौवन प्रकट होनेपर भी भगवान्के हृदय में कामकी बाधा उत्पन्न नहीं हुई थी ॥५३॥ चूंकि पृथिवीतलपर भगवान्के रूपकी न उपमा थी न उपमेय ही था इसलिए भगवान्के रूपके विषयमें उपमान और उपमेयके लिए इन्द्रको खेदखिन्न होना पड़ा ॥५४॥ क्रीड़ाओंके समय अपने कुटुम्बी जनोंके द्वारा अपने विवाहको चर्चा की जानेपर नेमिजिनेन्द्र मन्द-मन्द मुसकराते हुए स्वयं लज्जित हो उठते थे ॥५५॥ तीन ज्ञानरूपी जलके द्वारा जिसके भीतरका मोहरूपी कलंक धुल गया था ऐसा भगवान्का अन्तःकरण वैभवरूपी धूलसे धूसर नहीं हुआ॥५६॥ १. सौरजा म., ग. । २. वीरपुर म., ग.। ३. पूर्वपूर्वस्वनाम्ना ( ग. टि. )।
