अथ तयोः परिपाकमुपेयुषि प्रगुणमानसयोः प्रगुणायुषि । अधिपपात हि कालनियोगतो जलदकालसमागतचञ्चला ॥१७॥ अशनिपातसहोज्झितजीवितौ परमदानफलोदयसेवितौ । सुविजया गिराविह तावितौ विपुलखेचरतां सुखमावितौ ॥१८॥ उभयकोटितटीघटितोदधिर्धवलताधरितेन्दुपयोदधिः । स्फुरितराजतमूर्तिरसौ यतः क्षितिवधूपृथुहार इवायतः ॥१९॥ वियदतीत्य भुवो दशयोजनी स्वजगतीद्वितयांशयुगेन सः । जगति भोगभुवोऽमिनवा यथा वहति खेचरराजपुरीगिरिः ॥२०॥ 'सभृतभारतभूरिगिरीशते स्थिरदशोत्तररम्यपुरीशते । उदितपञ्चविंशतियोजने वितततद्विगुणे सुखयोजने ॥२१॥ पुरमिहोत्तरमस्ति सुखक्षम तरुवनानु कृतोरुकुरुक्षमम् । हरिपुरं विदितं तदमिख्यया हरिपुरप्रति यदभिख्यया ॥२२॥ अमवदस्य पुरस्य तु गोपिता पवन पूर्वगिरिः खचरः पिता । सुमुखराज चरस्य मृगावती गुणवती जननी हि कलावती ॥२३॥ अभृत चार्थवतोमभिधामयं प्रकटमार्य इतीह सुधामयम् । वचनमार्यजनप्रमदावहं स्मरणमन्यभवप्रमदावहम् ॥२४॥
गर्भगृहमें सोया था। उस मभंगृहका मध्य भाग मणिसमूहको कान्तिसे व्याप्त था तथा आदरको प्रदान करनेवाला था ॥१५-१६। उसी समय जिनके मन एक दूसरेके आधीन थे ऐसे उन दोनोंकी श्रेष्ठ आयु समाप्त होनेको आयी इसलिए उनके ऊपर वर्षाकालको बिजली आ गिरी॥१७॥ बिजली गिरनेसे जिनके प्राण एक ही साथ छूटे थे, तथा जो उत्तम दानके फलको प्राप्त थे ऐसे दोनों दम्पती सुखसे मरण कर विजया पर्वतपर विद्याधर-विद्याधरी हुए ॥१८॥ वह विजयाधं पर्वत, अपनी पूर्व-पश्चिम-दोनों कोटियोंसे समुद्रका स्पर्श करता है, उसने अपनी सफेदीसे चन्द्रमा और क्षीर समद्रको जीत लिया है, वह चाँदोके समान देदीप्यमान मतिका धारक है और पथिवी रूपी स्त्रीके बड़े भारी हारके समान लम्बा है ॥१९॥ वह विजयाधं पर्वत पृथिवीसे दश योजन ऊपर चलकर अपनी दो श्रेणियों के द्वारा विद्याधर राजाओंकी उन नगरियोंको धारण करता है जो संसारमें नूतन भोगभूमियोंके समान जान पड़ती हैं ।।२०। यह पर्वत भरत क्षेत्रके समस्त पर्वतोंके स्वामित्वको धारण करता है, इसपर एक सौ दश सुन्दर नगरियां स्थित हैं, यह पचीस योजन चौड़ा तथा सुखको उत्पन्न करनेवाला है ।।२१।। इसी पवंतकी उत्तर श्रेणीपर एक हरिपुर नामका नगर है जो सब प्रकारके सुख देनेमें समर्थ है, नाना प्रकारके वृक्षोंके वनसे उत्तरकुरुकी पृथिवोका अनुकरण करता है और शोभामें इन्द्रपुरीके समान जान पड़ता है ।।२२। इस नगरका रक्षक पवनगिरि विद्याधर था। वही राजा सुमुखके जीवका पिता था तथा इसकी अनेक कलाओं और गुणोंमें निपुण मृगावती नामको स्त्री थी वही सुमुखके जीवकी माता थी ।।२३।। यहाँ सुमुखका जीव, 'आय' इस सार्थक नामको धारण करता था। धीरे-धीरे वह आर्यजनोंको आनन्द उत्पन्न करनेवाले अमृतमय वचन बोलने लगा तथा उसे अपनी पूर्व भवकी स्त्रीका स्मरण हो आया ॥२४॥ १. क्षगरुचिः सहसा समयोगतः घ., ङ.। २. सुभृता भारतभूरिगिरीणामोशता येन स तस्मिन् । ३. पञ्चाशद्योजनविष्कम्भे। ४. विनिहिताखिल चाक्षगणश्रमं ख., ग., ङ., म. अत्र यः पाठः स्वीकृतस्तस्य ङ. पुस्तकस्य टिप्पण्यां समुल्लेखः कृतः। विनिहिताखिलवाक्षगणश्रमं क.। ५. शोभया। ६. रक्षकः । ७. खचराधिपः घ.।

And when the two, endowed with excellent minds and excellent lifespans, were about to reach their maturity, then, due to the decree of time, a cloud laden with lightning arrived and struck them. ||17||

Their lives, extinguished by the lightning strike, were consumed by the fruits of their great charity. The two, victorious in their speech, were elevated to the state of celestial beings, enjoying great happiness. ||18||

The ocean, touching both shores, is adorned with the whiteness of the moon and the milky ocean. This is why the celestial being, with his form radiating darkness, is like a large garland worn by the earth. ||19||

He, surpassing the sky, travels ten yojanas above the earth, sustaining the cities of the celestial kings with his two divisions, which appear like new realms of enjoyment in the world. ||20||

This mountain, holding dominion over all the mountains of the Bharat region, has one hundred and ten beautiful cities situated on it. It is twenty-five yojanas wide and brings forth happiness. ||21||

On the northern range of this mountain, there is a city called Haripura, capable of bestowing all kinds of happiness. It is adorned with forests of various trees, resembling the earth of Uttarakuru and appearing like Indrapuri in its splendor. ||22||

The protector of this city was the celestial being Pavanagiri. He was the father of the celestial being, King Sumukh, and his mother was Mrigavati, skilled in many arts and virtues. ||23||

Here, the celestial being Sumukh, bearing the meaningful name "Aaya," gradually began to speak words like nectar, bringing joy to the Aryans. He remembered his former wife. ||24||
