हरिवंशपुराणे पुरमथोत्तरदिग्जगतीमितं भवति तत्र गिरौ विमवामितम् । यदिह मेघपुरं परमं परां वहति सन्मणिसौधपरम्पराम् ॥२५॥ अधिवसन्यथ तद्दमनो हरी रिपुमदेमकुलस्य मनोहरी । रतिषु यस्य मनोहरति प्रिया पवनवेगखगस्य रतिप्रिया ॥२६॥ अजनि साथ तयोर्दुहिता सती सहचरी सुमुखस्य हिता सती । विदितपूर्वभवाऽत्र मनोरमा' जगति चन्द्र कलेव मनोरमा ॥२७॥ कुलमुवाह विवाहविधोचितं शचि यथैव तथाकृतभावितम् । शिशुसमागममाशु विधिः स्वयं कृतिषु यद् यतते सककास्वयम् ॥२८॥ मिथुनमकयोः सुखलालितं निजनिषङ्ग कृताशिनिमोलितम् । स्मितमुखं सुमुखं वचनाध्वनि स्वजनतोषमपोषयदध्वनि ॥२९॥ स्वजननीस्तनपानकृताशनं निजरुचोपमितार्कहुताशनम् । मजति भोगभुवां शिशुभावनां विजयिनां मिथुनं स्म सभावनाम् ॥३०॥ स्वतनुवृद्धिमतश्च शनैः शनैः सह कलाभिरिदं च दिने दिने । शशिवपुर्यदियाय यथा यथा स्वजनमुज्जलधिश्च तथा तथा ॥३१॥ निखिलखेचरसाधितविद्यया मिथुनमेतदमाद् भवविद्या । ललितयौवनमाररुचा तथा जनमनोऽस्यहरद् गुणयातना ॥३२॥
इसी विजया पर्वतकी उत्तर श्रेणीमें एक मेघपुर नामका उत्तम नगर है जो अपरिमित वैभवसे युक्त है तथा मणिमयो उत्तम महलोंकी पंक्तिको धारण करता है ।।२५।। उस मेघपुर नगरका राजा पवनवेग था। पवनवेग शत्रुरूपो मदोन्मत्त हाथियोंको नष्ट करने के लिए सिंहके समान था। इसकी स्त्री मनोहरी थी। मनोहरी रतिकालमें पतिके मनको हरण करती थी इसलिए वह पवनवेगको रतिके समान प्यारी थी ॥२६।। राजा सुमुखकी जो वनमाला नामकी हितकारिणी उत्तम स्त्री थी वह इन्हीं दोनोंके मनोरमा नामको उतम पुत्री हुई। मनोरमा अपने पूर्वभवको जानती थी और संसारमें चन्द्रकलाके समान मनको आनन्दित करती थी ॥२७॥ उन दोनोंने जैसी पहले भावना की थी उसीके अनुसार विवाहके योग्य पवित्र कुल प्राप किया और उन दोनोंका विधाता सदा समस्त कार्योंमें स्वयं ऐसा ही प्रयत्न करता था कि जिससे उन दोनों शिशुओंका शीघ्र ही समागम हो जाये ॥२८।। उन दोनों बालक-बालिकाओंका अपने-अपने घर सुखपूर्वक पालन होता था, वे अपनी हथेलियोंसे कभी अपनी आँखें बन्द कर लेते थे, कभी मन्द हास्य करते थे, कभी वचन बोलने में तत्पर होते थे, और कभी किलकारियाँ भरते हुए अपने कुटुम्बीजनोंके हर्षको बढाते थे ।।२९।। और अपनी-अपनी कान्तिसे जो सूर्य तथा अग्निको उपमा धारण कर रहे थे ऐसे उन दोनों बालिका-बालिकाओंका युगल भोगभूमियाँ बालकोंकी विजययुक्त उत्तम भावनाको प्राप्त हो रहा था अर्थात् वे भोग-भूमियां बालकोंके समान सुशोभित हो रहे थे ॥३०॥ चन्द्रमाके समान शरीरको धारण करनेवाला वह युगल प्रतिदिन कलाओंके साथ जिस प्रकार धीरे-धीरे शरीरकी वृद्धिको प्राप्त होता जाता था उसी प्रकार उनके कुटुम्बीजनोंका आनन्दरूपी सागर भी वृद्धिको प्राप्त होता जाता था ॥३१।। संसारको जाननेवाला वह युगल, जिस प्रकार समस्त विद्याधरोंकी सिद्ध की हुई विद्याओंसे सुशोभित हो रहा था उसी प्रकार अनेक गुणके साथ प्राप्त हुई सुन्दर यौवनकी शोभासे लोगोंके मनको हरण कर रहा था ॥३२।। १. मनोहरा म.। २. विधोचितभावितं ख.। ३. स्वजनहर्षोदधिः । 'जनमनो मुदितं च तथा तथा ख.। ४. भववेत्ता, यथा । ५. गुणान् याता तया ।
