हरिवंशपुराणे पूर्वस्य विजयस्यादरायामः सरितोऽपि वा । अन्त्यो यः स परस्यायो विजयादेर्व्यवस्थितः ॥५५॥ विजयायामवृद्धिश्च सहस्रं तु चतुर्गुणम् । शतानि पञ्च चाशीतिश्चत्वारि च समीरिता ॥५५॥ वक्षारायामवृद्धिस्तु सप्त सप्ततिसंयुता । चतुःशतीतिसंख्याता षष्टिश्च सकला कलाः ॥५५२॥ सा विभङ्गनदीवृद्धिः शतमेकोनविंशतिः । कलाश्चैव द्विपञ्चाशदिति वृद्धिविदो विदुः ॥५५३।। सप्तशत्या सहस्रे द्वे तथाशीतिर्नवाधिका । देवारण्यायते वृद्धिर्वा द्वानवतिः कलाः ॥५५४॥ स्थानक्रमास्त्रिकं द्वे च षट चत्वारि नवद्विकम् । पद्माजनपदायामः शतं षण्णवतिः कलाः॥५५५॥ आद्यो यो वृद्धिहीनोऽसौ मध्यो मध्योऽन्त एव हि । वक्षारक्षेत्रनद्यादा वेद्यमेवं यथाक्रमम् ।।५५६।। अन्योन्याभिमुखा देशा वक्षारनगसिन्धवः । तटयोः सदशायामाः सीतासीतोदयोः स्थिताः॥५५७।। पूर्वान्मन्दरतः पूर्व विदेहैरपरिमैः । पाश्चात्यादपरे पूर्व ते समाः स्युर्यथाक्रमम् ।.५५८।। चत्वारिंशच्च चत्वारस्तवीपे शतमेव च । जम्बूद्वीपसमाः खण्डा गणितस्य समं पुनः ॥५५१।। कोटोनामेकलक्षा स्यात्सहस्राणि त्रयोदश । शतान्यष्टौ तथैका सा चत्वारिंशच्च कोटयः ॥५६॥ नवभिनवतिर्लक्षा पञ्चाशत्सप्तमिः सह । सहस्राणि शतैः षड्मिरेका उत्तरैस्तथा ॥५६१॥ द्वीपं च धातकीखण्डं परिक्षिपति सर्वतः । द्वीपद्विगुणविस्तारः काल: कालोदसागरः ॥५६२।। तस्यैकनवतिर्लक्षाः सहस्राणि च सप्ततिः । षटशतो साधिका पञ्च पर्यन्तपरिधिर्मतः ॥५६३।। षट् शतानि च कालोदे द्वासप्ततिरितस्ततः । जम्बूद्वीपसमाः खण्डाः पण्डितैरिह पिण्डिताः ॥५६४।। पञ्च लक्षास्तु कोटीनामेकत्रिंशत्सहस्रकैः । शतद्वयं द्विषष्टिश्च कोटयः प्रकटाः स्थिताः ॥५६५।।
लक्षाश्चैव चतुःषष्टिर्नवषष्टिसहस्रकैः । कालोदधावशीतिश्च गणितस्य पदं मतम् ॥५६६॥ लम्बाईमें देशको लम्बाई मिला देनेपर मध्य लम्बाई हो जाती है और मध्य लम्बाईमें देशकी लम्बाई मिल जानेपर अन्त लम्बाई हो जाती है। यही क्रम पर्वतादिकमें जानना चाहिए ॥५४९।। पूर्वमें देश, वक्षार पर्वत और विभंग नदीकी जो अन्त्य लम्बाई है वही आगेके देश, वक्षार पर्वत और विभंग नदीकी आदि लम्बाई है ।।५५०॥ देशकी आयामवृद्धि चार हजार पांच सौ चौरासी योजन कही गयी है ॥५५१।। वक्षार गिरियोंकी आयामवृद्धि चार सौ सतहत्तर योजन साठ कला है ॥५५२॥ विभंग नदियोंकी आयामवृद्धि एक सौ उन्तीस योजन बावन कला है ऐसा वृद्धिके जाननेवाले आचार्य कहते हैं ।।५५३।। और देवारण्यकी वृद्धि दो हजार सात सौ नवासी योजन बानबे कला है ॥५५४॥ पद्मा देशकी लम्बाई दो लाख चौरानबे हजार छह सौ तेईस योजन एक सौ छियानबे कला है ॥५५५।। यहाँके वक्षार पर्वत, क्षेत्र तथा नदी आदिको आयामवृद्धि हीन जो आदि लम्बाई है वही इनकी मध्य लम्बाई है और आयामवृद्धि होन जो मध्य लम्बाई है वही इनकी अन्त्य लम्बाई यथाक्रमसे जानने योग्य है ।।५५६।देश, वक्षारगिरि और विभंग नदियाँ सीता, सोतोदा नदियोंके दोनों तटोंपर आमने-सामने स्थित हैं तथा एक समान आयामके धारक हैं ।।५५७।। पश्चिम मेरुसे पूर्व और पश्चिममें जो विदेह हैं वे क्रमशः पूर्व मेरुसे पूर्व तथा पश्चिमके विदेहोंके समान हैं ।।५५८|| इस धातकीखण्डमें जम्बूद्वीपके समान एक-एक लाख विस्तारवाले एक सौ चौवालीस खण्ड हैं और समस्त धातकीखण्ड द्वीपका क्षेत्रफल एक लाख तेरह हजार आठ सौ इकतालीस करोड़ निन्यानबे लाख संतावन हजार छह सौ इकसठ योजन है ॥५५९-५६१॥ इस प्रकार धातको खण्डका वर्णन किया । अब कालोदधिका वर्णन करते हैं
