पञ्चमः सर्गः
अशोकवनमादौ च सप्तपर्णवनं ततः । स्याञ्चम्पकवनं नाम्ना तथा चूतवनं ततः ॥४२२॥ योजनानां सहस्राणि द्वादशायाम इष्यते । शतानि पञ्चविस्तारास्तेषां मध्ये तु पादपाः॥४२३।। अशोकः सप्तपर्णश्च चम्पकश्चूतपादपः । जम्बूपीठार्द्धमानाश्च पीठा जम्वर्द्ध मानकाः ॥४२४॥ चतस्रः प्रतिमास्तेषु चतुर्दिक्षु यथायथम् । अशोकादिसुरैरा जिनानां रत्नमूर्तयः ।।४२५॥ वनस्योत्तरपूर्वस्यामशोकपुरमत्र च । मानेन विजयस्येव प्रासादोऽशोकनामकः ॥४२६॥ सप्तपर्णपुरं पूर्वदक्षिणस्यां वनस्य तु । सप्तपर्णपुरस्यात्र प्रासादः पूर्वमानकः ॥४२७॥ दक्षिणापरदिग्भागे चम्पकस्य पुरं वनात् । अपरोत्तरदिग्भागे पुरं चेतामरस्य च ॥४२८॥ वैजयन्तादयो देवा विजयस्य समास्त्रयः । दक्षिणादिपुराधीशाः स्वालयायुःपरिच्छदैः ॥४२९॥ योजनानां तु लक्ष द्वे विस्तीर्णो लवणार्णवः । परिक्षिप्य स्थितो द्वीपं परिखेव सवेदिकः ॥४३०॥ लक्षाः पञ्चदशाशीत्या सहस्रं च शतं तथा । त्रिंशन्नव च देशोना परिधिलवणाम्बुधेः ॥४३१॥ अष्टादश सहस्राणि कोट्या नवशतान्यपि । त्रिसप्ततिश्च निश्चेया लक्षाः षट्षष्टिरेव च ॥४३२॥ सहस्राणि च पञ्चाशन्नव तानि च षट्शती। गणितस्य पदं वेद्यं प्रकीर्ण लवणार्णवे ॥४३३॥ दशैवोपरि मूले च सहस्राणि दश स्मृतः । सहस्रमवगाढोऽधो ध्रुवाण्येकादशोच्छ्रितः ॥४३४॥ तटान्तात्पञ्चनवतिं देशान् गत्वाऽवगाहते । देशमेकमधश्चैवमङ्गलादि सयोजनम् ॥४३५॥ स गत्वा पञ्चनवतिं देशान् देशांश्च षोडश । उच्छितोऽङ्गलहस्तादीन योजनानि च सागरः ॥४३६॥
हैं ॥४२१॥ उनमें पहला अशोकवन, दूसरा सप्तपर्णवन, तीसरा चम्पकवन और चौथा आम्रवन है ॥४२२॥ ये वन बारह योजन लम्बे और पांच सौ योजन चौड़े हैं। इन वनोंके मध्यमें क्रमसे अशोक, सप्तपर्ण, चम्पक और आमके प्रधान वृक्ष हैं। इन वृक्षोंकी पोठिका जम्बू वृक्षको पीठिकासे आधी है तथा इनका निजका विस्तार जम्बू वृक्षसे आधा है ॥४२३-४२४॥ उन चारों वनोंकी चारों दिशाओंमें यथायोग्य अशोकादि देवोंके द्वारा पूजित जिनेन्द्र देवकी रत्नमयी चार प्रतिमाएँ हैं ॥४२५।। अशोक वनकी उत्तर-पूर्व दिशामें अशोकपुर नामका नगर है इसमें अशोक नामक देवका भवन है जिसका विस्तार विजयदेवके भवनके समान है ॥४२६॥ सप्तपर्ण वनकी पूर्व-दक्षिण दिशामें सप्तपर्णपुर है उसमें पूर्व प्रमाणको धारण करनेवाला सप्तपर्ण देवका भवन है ।।४२७।। चम्पक वनकी दक्षिण-पश्चिम दिशामें चम्पक देवका चम्पकपुर और आम्रवनकी पश्चिमोत्तर दिशामें आम्रदेवका आम्र नगर है ॥४२८॥ वैजयन्त आदि तीन देव दक्षिणादि दिशाओंमें बने हुए नगरोंके स्वामी हैं तथा अपने भवन वायु और परिवार आदिकी अपेक्षा विजयदेवके समान हैं ॥४२९।। इस प्रकार जम्बू द्वीपका वर्णन किया। अब लवणसमुद्रका वर्णन करते हैं
__ वेदिकासे सहित लवणसमुद्र, दो लाख योजन विस्तारवाला है और वह परिखाके समान जम्बू द्वीपको घेरकर स्थित है ॥४३०॥ इसकी परिधि पन्द्रह लाख इक्यासी हजार एक सौ उनतालीस योजनमें कुछ कम है ।।४३१॥ तथा इसके गणितका प्रकीर्णक पद (क्षेत्रफल ) अठारह हजार नौ सौ तिहत्तर करोड़, छयासठ लाख, उनसठ हजार छह सौ योजन है॥४३२-४३३॥ इसकी ऊपर-नीचे चौडाई दश हजार योजन, गहराई एक हजार योजन और अवस्थित रूपसे ऊं ग्यारह योजन प्रमाण है ॥४३४॥ वह लवणसमुद्र, तटान्तसे पंचानबे हाथ जानेपर एक हाथ, पंचानबे अंगुल जानेपर एक अंगुल और पंचानबे योजन जानेपर एक योजन गहरा है ।।४३५॥ और पंचानबे अंगुल, पंचानबे हाथ या पंचानबे योजन जानेपर यह समुद्र सोलह अंगुल, सोलह हाथ या सोलह योजन ऊंचा है अर्थात् तटान्तसे पंचानबे अंगुल जानेपर सोलह अंगुल ऊंचा है, पंचानबे हाथ जानेपर सोलह हाथ ऊंचा है और पंचानबे योजन जानेपर सोलह योजन ऊंचा
