हरिवंशपुराणे सर्वरत्नात्ममध्या सा वैडूर्यमयमस्त का । मूले वज्रमयी भासा भासयन्ती दिशः स्थिता ॥३७९।। पञ्च चापशतव्यासमूलाग्रे चापि वेदिका । गव्यूति द्वितयोच्छायाः जगत्या मध्यमाश्रिता ॥३८॥ वेदिकाभ्यन्तरे कान्तं देवारण्यं वनं बहिः । सत्सौवर्णशिलापट्ट वापी प्रासादशोभितम् ।।३८१।। धनुःशतं शुतं साद्ध विस्तृताश्च शतद्वयम् । न्यूनमध्योत्तमा वाप्यो गाधाः स्नं स्वं दशांशकम् ॥३८॥ पञ्चाशच्चापविस्ताराः शतचापसमायताः । पञ्चसप्ततिमुच्चैस्तु प्रासादास्तत्र चाल्पकाः ॥३८३॥ षट् चापविस्तृतान्येषां द्वादशोच्छायवन्ति च । चत्वारि चापगाढानि द्वाराणि लघुवेश्मनाम् ॥३८४॥ द्विगुणा स्त्रिगुणाश्च स्युासायामोच्छ्यैरतः । मध्यमाश्चोत्तमास्तेषां द्विद्विारावगाहनम् ॥३८५॥ मालावलीकदल्याद्याः प्रेक्षागनसभागृहाः । वीणागर्भलताचित्रग्रसाधनमहागृहाः ॥३८६॥ मोहनास्थानसंज्ञाश्च रम्या रस्नमया गृहाः । सर्वतस्तत्र शोमन्ते व्यन्तरामरसेविताः ॥३८७॥ हंसक्रौञ्चासनैर्मुण्डैमंगेन्द्र मकरासनैः । स्फाटिकैरुन्न तैनः प्रबालगरुडासनैः ॥३८८॥ दीर्घस्वस्तिकवृत्तस्तैर्विपुलेन्द्रासनैरपि । गन्धासनैश्च रत्नाढ्यैर्युक्ताः सुरमनोरमैः ॥३८९॥ विजयं वैजयन्तं च जयन्त मपराजितम् । द्वाराग्यस्यां जगत्यां स्युः प्राच्यादौ दिक्चतुष्टये ॥३९०॥ अष्टोच्छायं चतुर्यासं नानारत्नांशुरञ्जितम् । द्वारमेकैकमत्र स्याद् भास्वद्वज्रकवाटकम् ॥३९१॥ दश सप्तशतो चान्या सहस्राणि च सप्ततिः । त्रयः क्रोशाश्चतुर्विंशाश्चतुर्दशशती युगैः ॥३९२॥
और अग्रभागमें चार योजन चौड़ी है, आठ योजन ऊंची है तथा पृथिवीके नीचे आधा योजन गहरी है ॥३७८|| उसका मूल भाग वज्रमय है, मध्य भाग सब प्रकारके रत्नोंसे निर्मित है और मस्तक-अग्रभाग वेडूयं मणियोंका बना है। वह जगती अपनी कान्तिसे दशों दिशाओंको देदीप्यमान करती हुई स्थित है ।।३१९।। जगतोके मध्य में एक वेदिका है जो मूल और अग्र भागमें पांच सौ धनुष चौड़ी है तथा दो कोश ऊंची है ।।३८०|| वेदिकाके आभ्यन्तर तथा बाह्य-दोनों भागोंमें सुवर्णमय उत्तम शिलापट्टोंसे युक्त, एवं वापिकाओं और भवनोंसे सुशोभित देवारण्य नामका सुन्दर वन है ।।३८१।। इनमें निम्न श्रेणीको वापियाँ सौ धनुष, मध्यम श्रेणीकी डेढ़ सौ धनुष और उत्तम श्रेणीकी दो सौ धनुष चौड़ी हैं। इन सबकी गहराई अपनी-अपनी चौड़ाईके दशवें भाग हैं ॥३८२।। देवारण्य वनमें जो लघु प्रासाद हैं वे पचास धनुष चौड़े, सौ धनुष लम्बे और पचहत्तर धनुष ऊंचे हैं ।।३८३।। इन प्रासादोंके द्वार छह धनुष चौड़े, बारह धनुष ऊँचे और चार धनुष गहरे हैं ॥३८४।। मध्यम और उत्तम प्रासादों तथा उनके द्वारोंकी लम्बाई-चौड़ाई एवं ऊंचाई लघु प्रासादोंसे क्रमशः दूनी और तिगुनी है। किन्तु द्वारोंकी गहराई दूनी-दूनी है ॥३८५।। उस वनमें मालाओंकी पंक्ति कदली आदि वृक्ष, प्रेक्षागृह, सभागृह, वीणागृह, गर्भगृह, लतागृह, चित्रगृह, प्रसाधनगह तथा मोहना स्थान नामके अनेक रत्नमयी सुन्दर-सुन्दर गृह सब ओर सुशोभित हैं । ये सब स्थान व्यन्तर देवोंके द्वारा सेवित हैं ॥३८६-३८७।। ये भवन देवोंके मनको हर्षित करनेवाले रत्नखचित हंसासन, क्रौं वासन, मुण्डासन, मृगेन्द्रासन, मकरासन, प्रबालासन, गरुडासन, विशाल इन्द्रासन और गन्धासन आदि अनेक आसनोंसे युक्त हैं। ये आसन स्फटिक मणिके बने हैं, इनमें कितने ही आसन ऊंचे हैं, कितने ही नीचे हैं, कितने ही लम्बे हैं, कितने ही स्वस्तिकके समान हैं
और कितने ही गोल हैं ।।३८८-३८९।। जगतीकी पूर्व आदि दिशाओंमें क्रमसे विजय, वैजयन्त, जयन्त और अपराजित नामके चार द्वार हैं ॥३९०। इनमें प्रत्येक द्वार आठ योजन ऊँचा, चार योजन चौड़ा, नाना रत्नोंकी किरणोंसे अनुरंजित और वज्रमयी देदीप्यमान किवाड़ोंसे युक्त है ॥३९१।। जगतीके अभ्यन्तर भागमें उन द्वारोंकी अन्तरज्याका प्रमाण सत्तर हजार सात सौ दश
