વિજ્ઞાન અને ધર્મ ખૂનને જે વિચાર ખૂન કરાવી ગયો તે વિચારને આત્મામાં સંસ્કાર રૂપે વ્યાપી જતે કઇ રોકી શકયું? એ સંસ્કારને કેઈએ દૂર કરી દીધા ? જે એ સંસ્કાર દૂર ન થાય તે ખૂનીને આત્મા તે મૃત્યુ પામતે જ નથી એટલે પુનઃ એ સંસ્કારો એની પાસે અનેક વ્યક્તિઓના ખૂન કરાવતા જ રહેશે ! તે પછી આ ન્યાયાધીશે તે ન્યાય કર્યો કે અન્યાય ? ફરી ફરીને ખૂન કરતા રહેવાની તકને જીવતી રાખીને ખૂનીને ફાંસીના માંચડે ચડાવી દે અને તેથી અનેક બીજા ખૂન થવા દેવાં એ માનવજાત સામે ભયંકર અન્યાય નથી શું? હવે તે એવાં ન્યાયાલયેની જરૂર છે કે જ્યાં ખૂનીને ફાંસીએ ચડાવવાને બદલે એના આંતરમનમાં વ્યાપી ગયેલા સંસ્કારને ફાંસી દેવામાં આવે. આ કામ તે ધર્મગુરુઓ-માનસશાસ્ત્રીઓ જ કરી શકશે."*
x What a leason the would-be suicide can learn from
the fact that we do, not, cannot die ! He would then know that suicide, so far from ending his miseries, would plunge him into a dilemma ten thosand times worse than the one from which he seeks to escape -a dilemma from which escape be ten thousand times harder than before.
The murderer too, pays for his crime a million times more fully than any capital punishment could ever hope to make him do In fact, so far from punishing the murderer, soceity is really punishing itself when it resort to capital punishment since, the loss of physical body, by hanging as by any other method, merely plunges the murderer's mind into the unconscious where his murderous ideas like the lump of sugar in our previous analoy are able to spread into the mantal etsmosphere of the world.
