The text is without a basis. Additionally, the ancient or modern texts that contain the life account of Siddhasena Divakara do not show any usage of the term Gandhahastipada. In contrast, the term Divakarapada appears in the works of earlier authors as well as in the pure works of other ancient teachers. Another strong and undeniable evidence is that before U. Yashovijaya, many works such as “Kathavali Gata Siddhasena,” “Anyalikhita Siddhasena,” “Prabhavak Charitra Gata Vruddhavadiprabandha,” “Prabandhachintamani Gata Vikramaprabandha,” and “Chaturvishatiprābandha” by Bhadresvara are present.
In the life account of Siddhasena, while the term Divakara is mentioned and supported, there is nothing regarding Gandhahasti. The widespread usage of the term Gandhahastipada raises the question of why earlier authors do not mention it similarly to how they use Divakarapada in relation to Siddhasena or alongside any of their established works.
