428 - Among the eight cases mentioned in the Tattvarthasutra, the confirmation of the second, third, and eighth opinions is established by the ancient tradition; in the first, fourth, and seventh, there is indeed no disagreement. The remaining two, namely the fifth and sixth, are not of special significance. Based on the different opinions available in the texts of both traditions, it cannot be determined which reading is original. Thus, we encounter failure here as well. - Now, we will present two controversial examples, which are as follows: (1) the rules of Pudgalik Bandha and (2) Parisaha. In the second example, both versions of the sutra are identical, while in the first example, there is a difference regarding the theoretical framework.

The rules of Pudgalik Bandha are described as follows in Sutra 5:32-36 (33-37): 9: Urvan (33) Hip-Hathvap: 33 (34) na jaghanya-gunānām: Ruk (36) Gucha-Saath-Randarānā 35 (36) Prathadhikādi-gunānām tu 36 bandhe samadhiko parinamiko (37) bandhe’dhiko parinamiko. And in the aforementioned sutra, both readings are identical in form. There is only slight variation in 36 (37). Sutras 5:33-35 (34–36), in which the rules of bandha concern Pudgal's Sadash and Visadash.
