Tattvarthasutra
It seems appropriate to state that the resolution of this question primarily revolves around the last two instruments, which appear incapable of yielding a complete and coherent decision. Linguistic study, which one might expect to yield successful results, has surprisingly turned out to be ineffective. It should be noted here that the question of whether or not part of the Tattvarthasutra is involved is connected to the question at hand. However, we set that aside because it is itself a significant issue that would necessitate a separate chapter to address.
We will begin the present discussion with an examination of the linguistic transformations found in both versions of the Tattvarthasutra. The presented sutras have been categorized into various groups based on their specifics to resolve this question. Their evaluation has been carried out based on the clarity of meaning with respect to context. The number assigned at the end of each category indicates the nature of this evaluation. The number outside the parentheses refers to the Svetambara sutras, the numbers within the small parentheses () refer to Digambara sutras, and the numbers within the meta parentheses [] refer to the unassigned sutras.
