Chapter 9-10 23-24 Now it describes the distinctions of Vinaya: Knowledge, perception, conduct, and treatment are the four types of Vinaya.
Vinaya is essentially one in nature, yet the distinctions made here are merely in terms of subject matter. The subject of Vinaya is primarily divided into four parts here: 1. Acquiring knowledge, continuing to study it, and not forgetting it - this is the "knowledge Vinaya." 2. Not being misled by the true perception of the nature of reality, investigating arising doubts to cultivate certainty - this is "perception Vinaya." 3. Maintaining concentration of the mind in any of the conducts such as Samayika, as previously mentioned - this is "conduct Vinaya." 4. Maintaining various appropriate behaviors towards anyone superior in virtue; for example, going towards them, standing up when they arrive, offering a seat, bowing, etc. - this is "treatment Vinaya."
