The verse is called "Tava Sutra." Just as the severing of karma occurs through its fruition, it often happens through penance as well. By the power of penance, one can become liberated from the soul's abode even before the fruits have manifested, according to the intensity of the experience. This point is indicated in the sutra with the word ‘'. The connection to karma (nature) is illustrated as follows:
The infinite and subtle entities dwelling in a single space from all directions are attributed to a unique point of convergence.
The sutra presents answers to eight questions that arise regarding the relationship between this type of space and the bondage of karma and the soul:
1. When does the bondage occur? In other words, what is created within it?
2. Which direction does the soul's space receive the bondage—higher, lower, or sideways?
3. Are the karmas of all living beings the same or different? If they are different, then why?
4. Is it gross or subtle?
5. Do only souls in the living space bind with karma, or do those in different spaces also bind?
6. When bondage is achieved, does it occur in motion?
