Chapter 8 - Verses 15-20
The excellent state of the Mehanya is comparable to seven seas.
Regarding the excellent state of name and gotra, it is comparable to many seas.
The excellent state of life span is comparable to thirty seas.
The inferior state of the Vedenya is comparable to twelve moments.
The inferior state of name and shethe is comparable to eight moments.
The remaining five, namely, the inferior states of knowledge-obscuring, perception-obscuring, obstruction, Mehanya, and life span, are comparable to the last moment.
Each karma's excellent state depicted here is possessed by a Mithyadrishti with sufficient knowledge of the five senses; the holders of inferior states vary in distinction. Knowledge-obscuring, perception-obscuring, Vedenya, name, gotra, and obstruction are related to the inferior state residing in the tenth Gunasthana, known as Sukshma Samparaya; the inferior state of Mehanya is situated in the ninth Gunasthana, called Anivrittibhadrasamparaya, and the inferior state of life span is found among innumerable year-living Tiryanch and humans. The medium state is of countless varieties, and its holders are innumerable, based on the differences of the Kashayik results. [15-21]
