Chapter 7 – Sutra 17 Was there and still is a tradition of belief, what is the difference between that and the tradition of writing?
In terms of the gross perception of the destruction of life, everything is relatively the same; however, the difference may only lie in the underlying sentiment. When there is no material hope or other allure behind offerings like Kamal Puja, and only an inflow of devotion or the spirit of surrender exists, the difference in that situation, as opposed to a situation devoid of such inflow or allure, depends on the variations based on different philosophies of worship. Various traditions of religious life that have persisted over time exist within the Jain community as a refined and researched form, with the same objective in mind; hence, the principle of refined documentation has been especially emphasized. When life is perceived to be undoubtedly nearing its end, there arises a destruction of religion and necessary duties, as well as the absence of any worldly attachments, then such a vow is regarded as significant.
