તત્ત્વાર્થ સૂત્ર
જવાની વૃત્તિ દૂર કરવી. ૨. જ્યાં સુધી લાલચુપણું દૂર ન થાય ત્યાં સુધી પોતાની લાલચની વસ્તુ પોતે જ ન્યાયતે માર્ગ મેળવવી અને તેવી બીજાની વસ્તુ વગર પરવાનગીએ લેવાના વિચારસુદ્ધાં ન કરવા. [૧૦]
હવે અબ્રહ્મનું સ્વરૂપ કહે છે: मैथुनमब्रह्म | ११ |
મૈથુનપ્રવૃત્તિ તે અબ્રહ્મ.
મૈથુન એટલે મિથુનની પ્રવૃત્તિ. ‘મિથુન’ શબ્દ સામાન્ય રીતે સ્ત્રી-પુરુષનુ જોડલું એવા અમાં પ્રસિદ્ધ છે, છતાં અહીં તેના અ જરા લંબાવવાને છે. જોડલું એટલે સ્ત્રી– પુરુષનું, પુરુષ-પુરુષનું કે સ્ત્રી સ્ત્રીનું અને તે પણ સજાતીય (મનુષ્ય આદિ એક જાતિનું) કે વિજાતીય એટલે મનુષ્ય પશુ આદિ ભિન્ન ભિન્ન જાતિનુ સમજવુ, આવા જોડલાની હકામ રાગના આવેશથી થયેલી માનસિક, વાચિક કે કાયિક કાઈ પણ પ્રવૃત્તિ તે મૈથુન એટલે અબ્રહ્મ કહેવાય છે,
પ્ર૦-જ્યાં જોડલુ ન હેાય, માત્ર સ્ત્રી કે પુરુષ કોઈ એક જ વ્યક્તિ કામરાગાવેશથી જડ વસ્તુના આલંબન વડે અગર પોતાના હસ્ત આદિ અવયવ વડે મિથ્યા સેવે, તેને ઉપરની વ્યાખ્યા પ્રમાણે શું મૈથુન કહી શકાય?
