Chapter - Sutra 2-3
Understanding of Feelings 1. To practice effort in such a way that the self does not experience distress, that is "Ismiti." To restrain the mind from unwholesome thoughts and focus on wholesome thoughts, that is "Mane Gupti." One must exercise caution to avoid faults in the three types of desires—acquisition, acceptance, and usage—this is called "Eshana Samiti." To observe and take care in the acceptance of things through scrutiny and diligence, that is "Adana Niksepan Samiti." To properly check and take food and drink, and to consume them after observation, that is "Alekitapan Bhojan."
2. Speaking thoughtfully is "Anuvachibhashan." Abandoning anger, greed, fear, and laughter, those are the remaining four feelings.
3. To request the required place only after careful consideration, that is "Anuvachivagrah Yachan." The king, family head, and those who have taken a place (the tenant), as well as various types of religious authorities, possess it; from each authority from whom a request for a specific place carries notable propriety, it is necessary to ask for that place. Even if the owner has granted it once and received it back, if required due to circumstances, to ask repeatedly for that place, ensuring that the owner's distress is avoided, is "Abhanuvagrah Yachan." When requesting from the owner, determining the parameters of the place at that moment is called "Avagrah Avdharan." Before the father, a person of similar virtue must decide the respect.
