Chapter - 24: 12-16 is limited. The limit of development is considered to be up to the space of Kakash; two reasons can be presented for this. The first is that the regions of living beings are only as many as those of Lokakash. In the state of higher development, a living being can spread only within one region of space, not two or more. Thus, even in the most excellent state of development, it cannot extend beyond the outer part of Kakash. The second reason is that development is a function of motion, and motion cannot occur outside of the dharmastikaya. For this reason, there is no occasion for living beings to spread outside Lokakash.
Q - How can infinite souls with bodies fit into the infinite regions of Lokakash?
A - Due to becoming subtle, the infinite souls of the ordinary body reside together within the same region of space without conflict with the body. Moreover, various souls in complete form can be seen on and within the body of humans, etc. Therefore, the inclusion of infinite souls within Kakash is not contradictory.
Although the elementary matter (pudgala) is infinite and substantial, its inclusion within Lokakash is due to its potential to transform into subtle forms. When such transformation occurs, infinite atoms and infinite aggregates can occupy the same space without clashing, just as thousands of lamps can illuminate a space without interference.
