તવાર્થ સૂત્ર ત્યંતરોની જઘન્ય સ્થિતિ દશ હજાર વર્ષની છે. અને ઉત્કૃષ્ટ સ્થિતિ પપમ પ્રમાણ છે. [૪૬-૪૭] હવે તિષ્કોની સ્થિતિ કહે છે :
ज्यातिष्काणामधिकम् । ४८ । ग्रहाणामेकम् । ४९। नक्षत्राणामर्धम् । ५० । तारकाणां चतुर्भागः । ५१ । કન્યા તમારા કરા ચતુમારશેવાળ રૂા
તિષ્ક અર્થાત્ સૂર્ય, ચંદ્રની ઉત્કૃષ્ટ સ્થિતિ કાંઈક અધિક પલ્યોપમની છે.
ગ્રહની ઉત્કૃષ્ટ સ્થિતિ એક પોપમની છે. નક્ષત્રેની ઉત્કૃષ્ટ સ્થિતિ અર્ધ પપમની છે.
તારાઓની ઉત્કૃષ્ટ સ્થિતિ પલ્યોપમની ચેથી ભાગ છે.
અને જઘન્ય સ્થિતિ તે પલ્યોપમને આઠ ભાગ છે.
શેષ અર્થાત્ તારાઓને છોડીને બાકીના જ્યોતિષ્ક એટલે કે ગ્રહ-નક્ષત્રોની જઘન્ય સ્થિતિ પલ્યોપમને
