Chapter 4 - Sutras 44-47
First, in the second realm, the inferior condition of hellish beings is preceded by a superior state.
In the first realm, the inferior condition lasts for ten thousand years.
Just as the inferior condition of the deva in the twenty-third sutra follows a sequence, similarly, the inferior condition of hellish beings from the second to the seventh realm follows a sequence. According to this rule, the superior state of the first realm is a measure of one ocean. The inferior condition in the second realm is in proportion to that. The three oceans of superior condition in the second realm correspond to the inferior condition in the third, the seven ocean measure of superior condition in the third correlates with the inferior state in the fourth; the ten ocean measure of superior condition in the fourth corresponds to the inferior condition in the fifth, the seventeen ocean measure of superior condition in the fifth correlates with the inferior condition in the sixth, and the twenty-two ocean measure of superior condition in the sixth correlates with the inferior condition in the seventh. The inferior condition in the first realm is ten thousand years.
Now, concerning the inferior condition of the Bhavanapati:
In the realm of the Moon, too, the inferior condition is ten thousand years. Now, how does the condition of the benta compare?
No, it is like the measure of Plaksha.
