Chapter 4 - Verses 39-42
In the fifth, the position is equivalent to ten sea levels; in the sixth, the position is equivalent to fourteen sea levels; in the seventh, the position is equivalent to seventeen sea levels; in the eighth, the position is equivalent to eighteen sea levels; in the ninth and tenth, the position is equivalent to twenty sea levels; and in the eleventh and twelfth heavens, the position is equivalent to twenty-two sea levels. In the first Trithayak of the nine Trithayaks, it is equivalent to thirty sea levels, in the middle it is equivalent to twenty-four sea levels, thus, increasing one by one, in the ninth Trithayak, it is equivalent to thirty-three sea levels. In the first four Anuttara Vimanas, there are thirty-five positions, and in Sarvasiddha, there are thirty-three sea levels.
Now the lower position of the Vaimanikas is mentioned:
"Unmeasurable is the lower Palyopama."
And in the lower positions, the conditions are as follows: there are descending and ascending pairs.
This is the status of sea levels.
The superior situation is somewhat more than this sea level. Further, the preceding and first of every lower condition are the descending conditions.

In the Digambara commentaries and in the Kank Kank Vetambara texts, it is also considered that in the four Vimanas, the superior situation is equivalent to thirty-three sea levels. In this chapter’s verse 42, it is stated in the commentary “Sangrahani” that there are thirty-three sea levels in the superior position.
