તત્ત્વાર્થસૂત્ર
સ્થિતિ, પ્રભાવ, સુખ, દ્યુતિ, લેસ્યાની વિશુદ્ધિ, ઇન્દ્રિયવિષય અને અધિવિષયમાં ઉપરઉપરના દેવા અધિક હાય છે.

ગતિ, શરીર, ઉપરઉપરના દેવા હીન છે.
પરિગ્રહ અને અભિમાનમાં
નીચેનીચેના દેવાથી ઉપરઉપરના
દેવા સાત વાતામાં
અધિક હાય છે. તે નીચે પ્રમાણે :
૧; સ્થિતિ : આના વિશેષ ખુલાસા આગળ તેવીસમા સૂત્રમાં છે.
૨. માવ : નિગ્રહ-અનુગ્રહ કરવાનું સામર્થ્ય'; અણિમા મહિમા આદિ સિદ્ધિનું સામર્થ્ય, અને આક્રમણ કરી બીજાએ પાસે કામ કરાવવાનું બળ, આ બધાને પ્રભાવમાં સમાવેશ થાય છે; આવા પ્રભાવ જો કે ઉપરઉપરના દેવામાં અધિક હાય છે તે પણ તેમાં ઉત્તરાત્તર અભિમાન અને સફ્લેશ ઓછા હેાવાથી તેઓ પેાતાના પ્રભાવનેા ઉપયાગ ઓછે જ કરે છે.
૩,૪. પુલ અને યુતિ : ઇંદ્રિયા દ્વારા ગ્રાહ્ય વિષયેાના અનુભવ કરવા એ સુખ છે. શરીર, વસ્ત્ર અને આભરણ આદિનું તેજ એ દ્યુતિ છે. એ સુખ અને શ્રુતિ ઉપરઉપરના દેવામાં અધિક હાવાનું કારણ ઉત્તર।ત્તર ક્ષેત્રસ્વભાવજન્ય શુભ પુદ્ગલપરિણામની પ્રકૃષ્ટતા જ છે.
૫. સ્ટેયાની વિશુદ્ધિ : લેશ્યાના નિયમ આગળ તેવીસમા સૂત્રમાં સ્પષ્ટ થશે. અહીંયાં એટલું જાણી લેવુ જોઈ એ કે જે દેવાની લેસ્યા સમાન છે તેમાં પણ નીચેની અપેક્ષાએ

In the realms of stability, influence, happiness, brightness, the purity of lesya, sensory objects, and material objects, the superior deities are predominant. 178 The lower deities are lesser in movement and body. In possessions and pride, from the lower deities to the superior deities, a higher predominance is noted in seven aspects according to the following:

1. Stability: The special explanation of this is provided in the same sutra earlier.
2. Influence: The capacity to exert control; the capacity for powers like anima, mahima, etc., and the strength to compel others to work — all these are included in influence. Although these influences in the superior deities are greater, the increasing pride and diminishing knowledge mean they make lesser use of their own influence.
3, 4. Happiness and brightness: Experiencing sensory objects through the senses is happiness. The radiance of the body, clothing, and adornments, etc., is brightness. The reason for happiness and brightness being greater in the superior deities is the intrinsic excellence of the beneficial results arising from superior qualities in the field.
