Chapter 2 - Sutra 3729: The masters of the Taijas and Karman bodies are all worldly beings, while only a few possess the Udaarik body. - Explain the differences between Taijas and Karman.
U - Karman is the root of all bodies because it is in the form of karma, and karma is the causal reason for all actions, whereas Taijas is not the cause of everything. It remains in an eternal connection with all and assists in the digestion of the consumed food during its experiences. [41-43]
In combination, the lowest and highest count of bodies for worldly beings is mentioned: both Taijas and Karman bodies are certainly present in every worldly soul until the end of worldly existence; however, the Udaarik body changes, which causes it to exist sometimes and sometimes not. Therefore, the question arises: how many bodies can each soul have at the very least and at the most? The answer is presented in this text. A worldly being can have at least two and at most four bodies simultaneously; five bodies can never exist. When there are two, those are Taijas and Karman, as both exist only as long as a being is in worldly existence. This situation is attained in an interval of movement, as no other body is present at that time. When there are three, they are Taijas, Karman, and Udaarik, or they may also be Taijas, Karman, and Vaikriya. The first type is humans and animals, while the second type is heavenly beings.
