Chapter 1 - Gh 26-31
In the motion of an embodied being and in the three motions of four time periods, anunhunger state can be found; this is because it arises from the initial food taken by the body that has abandoned the first time period and the food derived from the final time period's origin. However, the first and last have left the time period, hence, in between the time, the state is foodless. This is why in the embodied motion, one time is considered foodless, and in the tri-embodied motion, the first and final time periods leave behind a middle time where the state remains foodless until that time. In some places, even three times are considered foodless; this is to be understood in light of the possibilities of the four embodied motion of five time periods.
Q—In the interval motion, the absence of the gross particle (pudgala) consumed by the body-matter is comprehensible; however, during that time, is the pudgala consumed or not?
A—It is consumed.
Q—How?
A—Even in interval motion, the embodied being has a corporeal body, hence the vibrational manifestation of the soul which is called 'kānyāg' is certainly there. When there is yāg, the consumption of pudgala is also inevitable; because it is the cause of attraction in manifestation.
